I qualified for financial aid that would've completely paid for my Auto Tech Certificate. The program is ONLY offered as a 3 semester program: Fall, Spring, and Summer. I started in Fall of 2023 and finished the program with a 4.0 this past summer and had been assured (through several phone calls to the graduation department) that I would be receiving my certificate in the mail. I received an email confirming that I had been awarded the certificate. But weeks went by and I never got anything in the mail. We called the graduation department again on 10/11/24, and the lady at first said it would be mailed in the next couple of weeks. Then she called back to say she found out there is a financial hold on the account. So we called the financial aid office and talked to Mr. ******. He said I never filled out some form that BRCC requires to tell them that I intended to go to school during the summer so they would pay my financial aid. He said emails were sent about this in May. I never received any email or anything in the mail or any notices in my student dashboard. My instructor never told me. We receive countless fluff emails daily but they didn't email about this? You're only able to complete the program if you attend in the summer, and obviously since I registered for summer classes, I intended to go to summer school. But now I have a balance of over $500 and they're holding my certificate. There was never any notice that I needed to complete this form. TOPS did pay the TOPS portion, but there should have also been a grant covering the remainder of the tuition/fees. This university employs dishonest practices so they can make money holding students' certificates hostage. If I don't pay, I don't get my certificate despite finishing with a 4.0, AND they'll send my information to the state so they'll put a lien on any future tax refunds. They offered no way to appeal and no other remedy other than pay a balance they never gave me a chance to avoid or informed me of.

Baton Rouge Community College has appeared on my college transcripts. I have completed all my studies in the state of Nevada. In early August I contacted them about getting a Letter of Non-Attendance and they said I they would not be able to provide it since I have a record with them, I sent another email on 08/23/2024 asking what would be the next steps to get this removed or have a transcript sent over to and I have yet to hear back. I currently have a hold at my current university and I am not able to register for classes.

I applied for school for Fall 2023 and i was paying out my pocket but i was told that i couldn't start the class until the payment plan was set up but however i didn't have the money to start classes. The other classes i was enrolled into dropped me due to no show however an instructor has marked me as if i showed up in her class and they have me owing 576.00 and i been trying to reach out to several people trying to get this issue corrected and nobody is returning my call to tell me how to correct this issue and no one has even tried to correct this issue they has not been answering my email or returning my calls. I went to the school October and register for classes again and my advisor instructed me to talk to ***** ****** i waited for 2 hours to talk to her and she never called me to the back the front desk student worker went and to see what was taking her so long they came back and said she said give her a few however the other lady at the desk showed me how to withdraw the class but the balance wasn't corrected and i never attended the class and i am paying for classes out of my pocket.
