      I have been trying to refill my diabetes medication for three weeks, incurring all kinds of issues/delay tactics by BCBSLA. They are misinterpreting my schedule of benefits by stating that my drug requires a 90-day supply to be filled, when they originally filled it at the 30-day supply. According to the schedule of benefits, a 90-day supply is the LIMIT, not the requirement (up to 90 days for mail order prescriptions). I have been on the phone back and forth between BCBSLA and my pharmacy nearly every day trying to get an override code applied so I can refill my medication before I die of complications from uncontrolled diabetes. I dropped them in May of last year for putting me in medical debt because they covered so little before the deductible was met, making them absolutely useless to me. I refuse to drop them this year, they are going to do right by me because I'm going to the insurance commissioner's office with a complaint next.

      I have been denied two tests already this year, and it is only mid May. The first was a CAT scan of a lump on my leg, which was denied and again denied on appeal. The second was for an MRI of my neck which has been ordered by my neurologist. I am in severe pain, cannot turn my head, and have throat issues along with it as well. I am so totally afraid of something like throat, cancer, but Blue Cross could not care less. They have denied this MRI, despite all my symptoms. My doctor is appealing, but I am told that it’s probably not going to be approved, they usually never are, and it could take up to 30 days for an answer. I am in severe pain, and cannot even turn my head. The premium for this insurance is outrageous, and I cannot even have a test done. Blue Cross does not care about its patients. Poor poor service. There’s only one thing good about being able to get on Medicare. When that time comes Dash I will not have to deal with Blue Cross. I wish I could give it minus 0 stars. I’m sure no one will reach out to me.

      There should be an option to give 0 stars on the review. I transferred my coverage from BCBS of Tennessee to BCBS of Louisiana and immediately had a maintenance prescription that finally works instantly denied. I have called and filed appeals with numerous places since they have multiple entities handling different parts of the process and still have no logical reason for the denial. First, they said the medicine was not medically necessary. Then, they said I have to try other treatments first. When I send the documentation that I have already tried them, it was still denied. Deny, re-route, deny, re-route, provide vague information, change their reasons for denying appeals, customer service not authorized to provide information, re-route, deny...

      I was LIED to by a Representative of BCBSLA who TALKED me into changing from Humana (who didn’t cover the “off label” drug I needed) to BCBSLA because “BCBSLA WILL cover this drug AS LONG AS a Dr states it to be “MEDICALLY NECESSARY”. As a formality it would go before a “committee” <(unsure of word) for approval. This was ORAL. I wish I had recorded it. I have no recollection the salesperson’s name who assured me this.
      I switched to BCBSLA as I had had BLUE CROSS for YEARS as an educator.
      FANTASTIC company! I FULLY TRUSTED the BCBSLA Representative & SWITCHED over “ONLY” because of their assurance.
      I was in the THROES of depression & as I’d been ASSURED treatments WOULD BE COVERED, I went for consultation. Dr deemed treatment medically necessary.
