We received a letter form stating it was from D.O.C.S regarding Certified Articles of Organization Request Form. This notice seemed legitimate and we sent a payment to the address listed: 100 old cherokee rd ste f-1 lexington, south carolina 29072 and later we found out this notice was a fraudulent request. We sent the payment they requested back in 2021 and they cleared the check with no response of any kind. Since then, we've continue to receive various different requests with different emails listed on the letters and claiming its from the United States Business Regulations Department.

This is truly deceptive. I got this letter that looks like a bill regarding a labor law that requires you to put up posters for employees to understand labor law rules. It makes you believe that you must buy THEIR posters (hence the fee you are billed for) in order to comply. Only in very fine print on the back does it state that there is no requirement to buy their posters and you can get this type of poster for free diectly from the government. They are hoping that new business owners who dont know all the rules are going to see this as a cost of doing business using LPCC. They need to be shut down immediately and sued for all the money they've stolen over the years.

I just started an LLC and have been trying to get all of the correct paperwork in place, so I can make sure I’m doing everything correctly, especially to open a Business Bank account & file taxes. I received a pretty “official” looking document stating that I would need to mail in a check or money order for $89.25 in order to receive my Certified Articles of Organization. PLEASE do not fall for this. I knew it was a scam because I took care of this document online. AND if you Google the address you will see it’s in some random strip mall.

Scam artists trying to take money from new businesses. Sent a bill making it seem like a government fee.
