Date of Services: 6-21-21, 7-12-21, 10-25-21, 2-22-22 The total cost of lens replacement or $2500 per eye. $5000 total Eye Medical Center doctor agreed to do cataract surgery on both eyes. I was told I would not need eye glasses except for small font when reading. The doctor recommended the Vivity lens which is a more expensive alternative to the standard lens. It is a multi focal lens. After my initial surgery on the right eye it was apparent the Vivity lens did not work as my vision was blurry. The doctor went ahead with the same surgery on my left eye and the results were the same. Blurry vision. He did YAG surgery on the right eye with no improvement. I was told to go home and wait for the eyes to get better. He said, "after all we aren't getting any younger and sometime it takes a while to improve". They did not improve after several months. The doctor dhared little to no information with me. Nothing about YAG surgery, Vivity lens etc. Nothing. My questions went unanswered. I went to a second doctor at Eye Medical Ceter who thought YAG surgery would improve my left eye. He seemed much more caring than the first doctor. It did not improve the blurriness. I went to another eye doctor, not associated with Eye Medical Center. She did recommend a replacement of the vivity lens to a standard lens. She suggested I see another specialist at another location. This took months for appointments. I saw the specialist and we tried using eye drps over an extended period of ten times a day. This failed as well. 1. It turns out that the Vivity lens should not have been used for someone with macular degeneraton, which I have. This from my own independent research and going to the manufacturers website. 2. The Vivity lens should have performed immediately unless I had other complications with my eye which I did not. 3. The Vivity lens should have been replaced with a standard lens within four months of the initial lens replacment.
