    ******** a storage unit at 720 Clay St, the storage center, formerly known as life storage. My payments were set to automatic draft on the 20th of each month. Around 09/26/23 I noticed my payment had not drafted so I attempted to reach someone with life storage. At this time, I learned life storage was no longer operating and the new company is the storage center. I told them I was concerned because I never received any form of communication or notification whatsoever, and I was told someone would contact me in a few days. I tried calling the number listed multiple times over the next few weeks and the calls go straight to a voicemail service and no one returns my calls. On October 20th, I received an email about my payment declining, and on October 21st, someone named ******* left me a voicemail. Every attempt I have made to call back or reach someone at the storage center has been unsuccessful. On October 25th, I received another email letter now indicating a lien and additional fees. Again, I tried reaching someone at the property during business hours, but no one is there. Out of fear of losing my belongings, I followed the directions in the email I received on the 20th and paid the full amount due. I think it is totally unreasonable and predatory to make me responsible for fees and the business has failed to properly communication and give notifications. I would like my money back for the additional fees I have incurred outside of the monthly rent because the storage center failed to maintain proper business hours and they have failed to give me the proper notification.

    Extra Space Storage would like to thank ******************** for reaching out. We understand the frustration and hope to clarify. The location where ******************** initiated her storage rental was dispositioned on 9/6/23 and is no longer managed by Extra Space Storage. ******************** will need to contact the management office of the location she is renting from,they will be best to assist with any questions and concerns. Thank you.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    As I stated in my complaint, I have made multiple attempts to contact the management office of the location.  Life Storage was the original compant I leased the space with and in late September/ early October, I reluctantly found out the property was under new management with "The Storage Center."  My complaint is against whoever owns/manages "The Storage Center", and their lack of professionalism and accountability.  I filed my complaint with the BBB in my local area and they forwarded the complaint based on their own investigation into the owners of the property. If you don't own the property, I need the BBB to investigate further as to why they have directed my compliant to someone who denies ownership of the business.
