The business is an automotive repair shop specializing in classic cars. My vehicle was in an accident in June of 2021. The vehicle was moved to their shop, and they received a check to start work by December of 2021 after the insurance was settled. Since receiving the check, I have had near radio silence. I have only been called back by the business a single time, in June of 2022, and despite my attempts to reach them have otherwise been stonewalled. There has been no effort made on their half to provide information on an expected completion date, and moreover, they were already paid for the work by the insurance company. They have had the vehicle for over a year, and I am at the point of filing a legal suit against them, as that may be the only way to get any kind of response.

** ****** Vette is at Ricks' awaiting manufacture back ordered main part (front cap) which has been ordered and paid for (insurance paid for part) along with shipping charges of $999.00 also paid at time of the order. I have been checking on that main part since ordered and have advise Mr **** of the information I received and advised him once any further word about the arrival of the front cap I would forward that info to him. I have also called insurance company & advised them of the situation of the front cap on manufacture back order. I apologize for lack of communication on our part but as I advised Mr **** on July 19, 22 the part was still on manufacture back order and they had no further info to give me as to when they would tool back-up on production of the part. It' is no doubt frustrating for Mr **** as well as us here having this repair looming taking up space and having to keep checking on the part so many times. There have been other parts placed on order at the same time that have trickled in as well due to them not being readily available at the time order was placed. Here are some of the dates front cap has been checked on 7/06/22, 8/18/22, 10,04,22, 10/31/22, 11/22/22, 12/09/22 which on this last date I was at least given a possible date of the end of December that production may begin? Another follow-up on 1/23/23 and at least given a possible ship date of Feb 2nd - the 6th? Today I've sent an email checking on that this morning and haven't received response at this time. I've also called into insurance adjuster to check on them giving the ok on us repairing the front cap due to part delay? This would take more labor hours than they allowed but it is a plan B. I have emailed Mr **** on Jan 23 advising him on the info I had as of that time. I will advise him once I have any new or further details Thanks

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 18810628, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. More communication around the dates that the parts were checked and my requests for an update (after their last notification as they stated in July) would have been better. But the business has reach out to me as indicated in January. I will await further responses patiently.

    Sincerely,

    ****** ****
