On May 10, 2023, I called American Leak Detection to have them come out to check for any additional leaks from there initial visit that was done in April for a fee of $400 that was paid by me, but reimburse from my insurance company (****). Tech, **** stated the company could only detect one leak at a time and in order to do that I would have to get the current first leak fixed. Stating I have 30 days from April visit and they would come out free of charge. I got the leak fixed and called them to come out. I explained to the Ms. ***** what the tech had told me and requested them to come out. I also asked her several times do I have to pay for the visit even though the tech told me that it was free. I wanted to double check. She placed me on a brief hold and said that no I would not have to pay. May 15, the same tech came out to retest. He asked me if I told the company that there was another leak and I told him no and mentioned what Ms. ***** and I discussed. After he completed the test he then told me that I would indeed have to pay $200. I told him that I would contact the office again to discuss it and not send a payment. He told me to contact the owner Mr. *****. I called and he called back and we discussed the issue. He stated to me that I did not hear what I thought I heard. I told him that I know exactly what I heard and not only that I called the office when I rescheduled to verify and the same answer was given. I also told Mr. ***** if the tech would have told me before he completed the service that I had to pay I would not have allowed him to complete it. Mr. ***** told me the policy states I have to pay for the service. If the policy say one thing the tech is saying another and the rep that I called Ms. ***** verified for me. I asked what policy, he said it was in store, and I mentioned that I do not have that policy but I to know what was told to me. I asked him what I need to do cause I a not paying. He said that he will send it to collections.

I am currently paying 3 x's the average water bill compared to my neighbors. My last water bill payed this week was $188 ! I have contacted the city many x's for help & all I get from the city is "you have a leak". So over the last year or so I have replaced all faucet internals, toilet internals & outside hose spickets. I have replaced my RO filter system with a new one & tested the system in accordance with the manufactures instructions & it works as specified with no leaks. I have had a licensed plumber inspect my house & was informed that they observed no leaks.
I write all of this background before expressing my complaint in order to give BBB context as to WHY I finally reached out to the home leak "professionals" as claimed by the American Leak Detection of Gulf Coast. In a desperate attempt to solve my water bill problem, I spoke on the phone to an older gentleman. I SPECIFICALLY asked him that if my house had no leaks, could his company write me an official report saying so. He answered, "YES" !
After the technician inspected my house the technician thought I had a leak through my R.O. filter system which I later realized that the tank was refilling & it is supposed to drain 3 gallons of water for every 1 gallon filtered until the tank is full. The technician admitted to me that he knew NOTHING about RO systems. So I shut my system off & then the technician stated that my house had no leaks! MY complaint to BBB is that the "official" report that I received from American Leak Detection states that they can not "guarantee results" & the technician stated in the report that there was a "leak" in the RO system (which he knows NOTHING about). So I have reached out to American several x's and being left without any resolution except that I lost $400 to a service that did not do what they claimed they could do. Therefore I would like the report amended throughout its four pages to state that I have no leaks ! If they will not comply, then I want my money back.
