First off, disclaimer, this review is for the Giles Nissan that this page is for, even the pictures attached show a Nissan dealership, and there's definitely not 3 Giles Subaru in Lafayette.

To call them incompetent would be an insult to incompetent people. To start with, they diagnosed my issue as the throttle body (which had just been replaced with a non-OEM one). They couldn't find the part. They order it from their supplier... It was on back order. It was on back order with no eta. Two-three weeks go by... still no eta. I say screw this and start looking for the part myself... I find it within half a day. They then try to charge me a bs $150 restocking fee for a part they don't even have an eta for. I called bs and got it removed thankfully. When I finally did go to pick up my car they had "mistakenly" put the restocking fee back on. After we sorted that out and we were on our way out, lo and behold, they had MISPLACED MY KEYS. To top it all off and add insult to injury, my car is in fact NOT FIXED. To sum up, I have now wasted a month of my time and $800 ($950 if I hadn't called bs on the restocking fee) that should have gone toward my college expenses on not getting my car fixed. Also $400 for an hour of labor is outrageous.

We deeply apologize for the issues you faced during your service visit. We understand how frustrating this has been, and we’re genuinely sorry for the inconvenience and confusion caused. The miscommunication and delays were unacceptable, and we regret that we didn’t meet your expectations. We checked with our shop foreman who informed us that we diagnosed the throttle body issue and found that the throttle body recently installed from O'Reilly was not functioning properly. We recommended an OEM throttle body as a replacement, but unfortunately, we discovered it was on national backorder with no available release date. Initially, a $150 restocking fee for this part was mentioned; however, once our parts manager was able to cancel the order, we removed this fee. Due to a miscommunication between our parts and service departments, the fee was mistakenly re-added to your ticket, but we corrected this once it was brought to our attention. During pickup, there was a mix-up with the keys due to their placement with a nearby ticket. We sincerely apologize for this oversight and any delay it caused. Regarding the labor charge, the $400 you mentioned includes not only labor but also the diagnosis fee, gasket, taxes, and other associated fees. We understand this can be confusing and will work on providing clearer breakdowns in the future. Our service team did reach out to you a couple of times last week to schedule further diagnostics but was unable to reach you. While we strive to avoid errors, we acknowledge that they do occur. Please be assured that if given the opportunity, we are committed to making things right. We encourage you to contact us directly so we can address any remaining concerns and work towards a satisfactory resolution.
