    I am rejecting this response because: I had many different consultations less than a month after getting my braces off from here. Everyone said the way y’all left my bite was messed up and my teeth were going to chip and break.  Then you guys didn’t even catch the root absorption my dentist did because I was in treatment way longer than promise.Now I have to pay over 4 grand for treatment right now  since I’m currently in treatment to fix y’all bad  work . Every orthodontist in this area say a little root absorption is better than having a bad bite messing up teeth and talking uncomfortable in the long run.These following orthodontist have all my records from the consultations and proof about the bad work you guys perform and I will give you they phone number if you want their opinion about you guys.All these consultation was within a short time after taking my braces off and I wore my retainer 24/7 as you will see in their images y’all just left my teeth with a bad bite and didn’t want to deal with it anymore because the doctor can’t correct bites and my sister had the same problem as well. The right thing for y’all to do is pay for each of our treatment since yall couldn’t get the job done. The list right below has all their info. I would have  the office  manager call these doctors because their no idiots & good luck  trying t to fool them. We’re currently at ***** orthodontics it would be nice if y'all cover both our bills and the right thing to do.

    . Both our treatments were close to 5k each we paid at bayou braces , now we both have another 4500 a piece to pay to be in treatment again somewhere else

    Patient started treatment on 03.03.2020 and received regular adjustments. Patient needed extractions of four premolars due to severe crowding of upper and lower arches, closing the extraction spaces can sometimes be time consuming during the treatment.  During treatment the patient developed anterior and posterior open bite and at the same time fighting the growth of the mandibular jaw.   Throughout the time of his treatment he was asked to wear elastics to correct his bite.  Patient admitted to non-compliance with rubberband wear which doesn’t allow for us to correct the bite.
    Towards the end of his treatment we received a request from his dentist asking for the last pano due to them noticing some resorption of the roots however that is a common result of braces. The patient signed a potential risk and limitations that resorption can occur because it is a common risk. Minor tooth movement can result in root resorption and is nothing that an orthodontist can control at times. Slow and consistent movement is the approach in this treatment to prevent as much root resorption as possible. The last pano we had taken was on 09.28.2023, unless the patient needs repositioning of brackets we only take x-rays once a year.  In our last pan there was no sign of root resorption.  Patient and mom came into the office to meet with the doctor on 08.15.24 due to them being concerned about the root resorption that they discussed with his dentist. At this visit it was discussed with the patient and his mom that it was brought to our attention that he now has resorption of tooth #’s 7,8,9,10, 23, 24, 25, 26.  The orthodontist gave three options to mom and patient.  One option was to pause treatment for 6 months and then continue treatment, mom and patient declined this option.  
    The second option was to remove upper and lower braces with mom and patient accepting the bite, which would leave the patient with an edge to edge bite and posterior open bite on right and left sides since the treatment was not completed yet and the patient was supposed to wear elastics to correct the bite.  The third option was for the patient to continue treatment and have the possibility of more root resorption during treatment, mom and patient declined this option as well. Mom and patient discussed together and came to the conclusion that it would be best for braces to be removed to avoid further root resorption and mom and patient accepted the bite knowing the bite was edge to edge with a posterior open bite on both sides.  Mom and patient requested for braces to be removed the same day, so the orthodontist fit in time to remove braces on 08.15.2024 and had retainers made the same day to hold alignment of the teeth.

    Thank you for letting us know where you went for further evaluations.  
    As the patient went through orthodontic treatment the mandible jaw continued to grow forward, this unfortunately is not controllable.  Sometimes predicting growth is not possible during orthodontic treatment.  The time required to complete treatment may exceed the original time estimate. Most often, treatment can be delayed due to unusual growth patterns as this was in his case causing excessive treatment time.  Patient also needed four premolar extractions due to severe crowding that took time to close spaces.  Some patients are prone to tooth roots shortening during orthodontic treatment and this was the patients concern to terminate orthodontic treatment.  It was discussed when the patient and his mom came in on 08.15.2024 that his bite was not fully corrected and that in order to correct the bite the patient would need to continue orthodontic treatment.  However, after discussing his concern regarding the root resorptions three different options were given.  One option was to pause treatment for 6 months and then continue treatment, mom and patient declined this option.  The second option was to remove upper and lower braces with mom and patient accepting the bite, which would leave the patient with an edge to edge bite and posterior open bite on right and left sides since the treatment was not completed yet and the patient was supposed to wear elastics to correct the bite.  The third option was for the patient to continue treatment and have the possibility of more root resorption during treatment, mom and patient declined this option as well.     I am rejecting this response because at the time of termination of contract I had already payed over a little over 2000 for my braces. If the business would have likes 25% of the total amount that I was quoted for braces. I had already either payed 25% or was close to paying 25%. Instead I payed 2000 plus and extra 900 to terminate the contract because I am going on a deployment with the military where I am not allowed to have braces. I just think it is not fair that at the point of termination I had already payed 25% then on top of that I had to pay 900 extra when I had no choice but to cancel my contract

    When a patient begins treatment with Bayou Braces, brackets are bonded to the teeth which is  the most time consuming and valuable appointment during treatment which is why 25% of the total treatment financially is expected at that time.  We know that most patients can not afford to pay 25% of the total fee to start treatment with us so we allow for payment plans.
    Therefore, when a patient decides to terminate treatment with Bayou Braces there is a 25% fee of the total balance if the patient has been in treatment less than 10 months.  If a patient is in treatment longer than 10 months, 100% of the balance is owed to cover lab costs, orthodontic equipment used for treatment and the costs of the time spent by the orthodontist and the orthodontist’s staff.  Many patients understand this because at other orthodontic offices, they were quoted anywhere from $1000-2000 to start treatment to cover the costs of the supplies, labor, and orthodontic expertise and knowledge upon initiating treatment.
