    I attended a birthday party at this establishment . I’ve been to this business many times before. Friday 8/18/23 I bought a 3 month membership and paid for it upfront. A total of $297.
    I’ve been to this business many times and have seen people bring cakes in and sit at a regular table not in a room. The party I attended did not have a room. They were told they could not bring their cake in. I know one of the owners because he and I gained a friendly respectable relationship because I’ve frequented this place many times before. The next thing I know the employee , a young female , told cops that I brought a cake inside. I was humiliated in front of my friends and other patrons there AND my child . Take note these policeman were just off duty cops taking a second side job. They took me to *** the owner . Both cops, the girl , and *** were all yelling and or talking at the same time. I removed myself from the entire situation and place. I left my child there with her Aunt. 45 mins later I returned to pick up my child. The next thing I know they are escorting me out of this business. *** was yelling and provoking me in front of children, adults, the other owner and my friend. *** reportedly said he has me on audio video cam cussing, that’s a lie. I do not cuss and I did not cuss.  I spoke to the other owner the next day and he agreed it went too far. He also made a comment regarding *** should not interact with customers. I’ve repeatedly asked for my refund. I no longer feel safe going there . I paid for a membership that I will not use. I’m asking for a full refund of $297.

    Lake Area Adventures is writing this to simply respond to the complaint received. 

    Mrs. ***** with another customer tried to throw a birthday party for a child without paying for a party. Their plan was to bring in outside food and setup at a table and throw a party without paying the party fee. 

    Mrs. ***** is on our video system yelling at our young front staff members and trying to get the kitchen staff to put the food in our kitchen. None of this actions are allowed at our facility. 

    We have LCPD on site on Fridays and they witnessed Mrs. ***** causing a scene and on their own engaged with her. She was asked many times to stop causing a scene and remain calm. She did not do so. 

    *** ****** did make an exception for Mrs. ******* friend and created a party for her and her child without charging the fee and allowed the cakes that were brought in to be served. He wanted the child to have a good birthday party. The parents of the party have notified Lake Area Adventurers that they were very grateful for the way management handled everything and apologized for the actions of Mrs. Julie. 

    Mrs. ***** returned to property an hour later causing another scene in which the police on site made the management aware of. When management went to find Mrs. ***** she was at the front counter yelling and using words that are not allowed at the facility and in front of our other guest. 

    LCPD made the decision to bring her outside where she continued to argue with everyone. After some time had pass Mrs. ***** left on her own as she we asked to calm down and she could stay be she did not want that. 

    Mrs. ***** was given a refund and the LCPD made a report of the incident.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    That is all completely fabricated and false. They are lying I was not the person causing in scene when in fact on their footage it should show I was VERY calm.  

    I did get my refund . After four days. Rightfully so. I do not accept any of what the business submitted as a response and they know very well it’s all lies. They keep talking about footage yet the police’s footage and their supervisor beg to differ on what Lake Area is claiming .

    Their website pricing was misleading. Once I realized the error, I called to get a refund. I spoke with a worker, who confirmed with a manager that I would be issued a refund. I was also told that if the refund had not processed in a week, to call back and they would take care of it.
    The refund did not process, and when I called back, I was told by a new person to email the details to him. In the email I explained what happened and what I was told by the other employee. His response to my email was to say that the other employee was wrong, and I would not be refunded. Because their website is falsely advertising a price, I expect a full refund and was told that I would be getting one. I have screenshots of the pricing in question where it specifically says “bills every 12 months.” One would expect to be billed once a year, but they are billing once a month.
