    Sends out enexpierence technisons. The tech they sent was young and my unit is old but that's all he based it on rather than finding what was the real issue. He didn't even know where to look in the panel to test wires inside before going out on the roof. I told him I didn't know. I seen others that have come to service unit but I don't know which wires. Then he goes on the roof and he says he doesn't know which one it is. I told him other techs knew where it was. So he was running the clock because he didn't know where things were on the roof so he said it will be a extra charge because I was going over the 40 minute time for the original service charge. I said why am I being charged because you don't know what to do. I told him to stop there and I would call his office. All he came up with was that the unit is old. I paid his fee of $ ****** and called on Monday morning and spoke to ******* and she became defensive and I told her I didn't want to argue about it, I wanted to know if they were willing to make it right. She said I will let the mantince supervisor call you and they never did. No wonder they need to do commercials with top people to get business because they don't have repeat customers.

    I requested a technician come to my home for a second opinion and quote for repairing my air conditioner. I had been told by another company that the TXV coil needed to be replaced. I understood that there was a $94.00 charge for Lightning's diagnostic service. I am satisfied with the work the technician (Marc) did, which included hosing off one side of the outside unit and draining some refrigerant (for which I was not compensated). No repair work was done on the unit. I was then charged $384, instead of $94. I did not know about the extra $290 diagnostic fee until I was handed the bill. To be fair to Marc, he insists that he did tell me of this additional charge before continuing with his assessment, and as he seems an honest guy, I hesitate to doubt his word. I can only say that I do not recall approving an additional $290 for assessing the problem, and would not have done so knowingly. Given that my unit is in precisely the same condition it was in before, I feel ripped off; even more so after my conversation with the woman in the billing department, who on the one hand agreed to talk to her boss, while at the same time telling me in a condescending tone that she sees no reason to refund any money. By the way, Lightning's estimate to replace the TXV coil was $2053.95. I had it done by another company for $500 even. Although the technician, Marc, was pleasant and knowledgeable, I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Lightning Service, Inc.
