    I used several local contractors since beginning the renovation of my 100+ year-old house and none of them compare in any way to J.A.L.'s excellence, whether in price, quality of work, timeliness or customer service. My home is now completely renovated and expertly painted, inside and out and for a very reasonable price, too. Whether the sheetrock work, structural repairs, roofing, plumbing, electrical or new construction, I couldn't be happier with the results. **** ****, the owner/head contractor of J.A.L. is marvelous to work with, too. Whenever an issue arose--as they always do when doing a sensitive reno on an old house--**** was quick to respond, positive in outlook and able to help me arrive at a wholly satisfactory solution. His crew was unfailingly respectful of my privacy (I had to live on-site for the duration of the reno) and took great care to keep the noise and collateral mess to a minimum. They even helped me catch my idiot dog when he escaped while they were bringing materials in through the front door! If I weren't leaving town, I'd work with **** and J.A.L. again in a heartbeat. They're the best.
