    In 2023 I visited West Metairie Dental Dr. ******** ******* to receive dental care. I had ad an abscess tooth that had broke and needed a root canal. The entire experience was awful. I had ******** at the time and it does not cover root canal. I would be paying *** for this service. the first day I went in for this appt, the only thing Dr. ******* did was remove the decay from the tooth and pack it with a temporary filling. The tooth had severe damage and needed work done as soon as possible. Dr. ******* Charged me for half of the root canal procedure ($467 out of pocket) to only pack the tooth with a temporary filling and after the service was already paid for tried to schedule me two months out to finish the procedure. There was no way I could or should have had to wait that long to have a root canal finished given the severity of the decay and damage. I called several times basically begging to get in sooner and she refused. I ended up cutting my losses with her office and went to a different *******. I ended up having to pay for the entire procedure all over again out-of-pocket. The second ******* I went to also couldn't believe Dr. ******* would try to make me wait months to finish considering the damage to the tooth and had the root canal finished in less than a week between two appointments. The entire experience from the way I was treated as a patient at west Metairie Dental Care to the actual services provided (or lack of) was the worst I have ever experienced and I am typically never one to complain. Fast forward, I decided to leave a review on ****** of my experience. Very soon after leaving the review I received a bill for the exact amount I paid out of pocket. (note: I never received any type of bill before the review, its been over a year) I DO NOT owe this ******* office and have never even been to a ******* that let you leave without paying first either through insurance or out of pocket. This bill was sent out of spite and I would like it resolved.

    1. The treatment was her first step of a root canal. Most patients do not understand the steps of process of performing a root canal. Tooth #2 - extirpation of the nerve, instrumenting the canal ******** to the apex, sterilizing, and medicating. A temporary filling was placed until the patient can return to complete the closing of the root canal therapy, (the appointments can sometimes be 3-8 weeks apart). If she failed to keep her appointment(s) with us,  then went to another office, they kind of took advantage of the first step we performed by charging her all over again for the root canal. 

    2. Billing: She paid half to start, $450.00, and would have paid the balance, $447.00, upon completion of the treatment. Failure to keep appointments, possibly moved, and did not inform us, caused us to write off the balance as of 05/29/2024. No further collections were done after that. Again, what is the date on the "fake" bill?
