  I have been diagnosed with Diffuse Idiopathic Skeletal Hyperostosis (DISH). The pain is so excruciating Im not able to walk. The ************ referred me to ***************************, III at Southern *************** to discuss a pain pump. ****************** prescribed ******************************************************************************** that could fill the morphine for the next month. I did ask that he prescribe me something different and waited days to hear back. So, I went back to my orthopedist who referred me back to ****************** stating there was nothing else he could do. I did tell Dr. ******** office I went back to my ortho and that didnt seem to be a problem at the time and still wanted me to have the pain pump implanted. Then all of a sudden it became a major ordeal. I could not find any drug store near me that stocked the morphine. I called ***** many times but could get no answers. He would only prescribe morphine. It has now been more than a week since Ive had any medication while waiting on ******************. I received a call today from his office stating ****************** no longer wanted to see me. I cannot believe this doctor had the nerve to do this to me after not providing me adequate care nor getting me the treatment necessary for my condition. His conduct has impacted my health due to his unusual delay in treating me. ****************** has caused my condition to worsen and now I am without any medication and am bed ridden. I now have to start over with another doctor and undergo another series of testing. This is not acceptable and ****************** is the most inconsiderate doctor *** ever dealt with. Im unable to function due to Dr. ******** neglect. This situation needs to be addressed. Hopefully, this will not happen to an elderly disabled person in the future.

  Unfortunately this is a grossly inaccurate representation of the truth.  Privacy rules and HIPPA regulations preclude a detailed response specific to the medical treatment and specific circumstances of this patient's behavior. My team and I regret that this patient is dissatisfied.
  
  Regrettably this patient was verbally abusive, threatening, and inappropriately demanding to my office staff. Pain Management specialists, particularly, must be very aware of patients who seek to obtain and may abuse controlled substances and must exercise caution in prescribing these drugs, per DEA, Board of Pharmacy and Board of Medicine rules/laws. These rules prohibit overlapping controlled substance prescriptions.
  
  This prudent caution can sometimes lead to conflict and patient dissatisfaction but it is in the best interest of the patient and society.
