      I purchased a system from South Coast Solar 12 years ago. I am having an issue with the inverter and I have been trying to get it repaired since June. I purchased a 20 years warranty but of course they found a reason to reject the claim so the $1500 I spend on it was wasted. So I asked for a price to get it repaired. They will not even provide a price. Now that they know my number they don't even answer the phone any more even though I have been nothing but respectful when speaking with them. They ignore emails also. I am warning all potential customers if you decide to use this company you cannot count on them to service their system if you have issues. I suggest going with someone else because if it breaks you may never get it working again.

      ******, I am sorry that you have not had a response from our team in a timely manner.  I know we have been in contact with you concerning the inverter over the last couple of weeks, but we are waiting to get a response from the manufacturer.  Our team is working to get an answer concerning your extended warranty you purchased from Sunpower and not South Coast Solar.  The product that you purchased lasted 12 years as you indicated which is 2 years longer than the standard warranty and when ************** came to your house the Sunpower technician he contacted did not research to see if you had in fact had an extended warranty.  When you purchased your system, SunPower white labeled the inverters, which is an SMA inverter, and we are working to get to the bottom of the warranty question with the both of them.  At this time, we are working to get this rectified and we are looking to assist in any way we can to get your system back up and running.

      In 2015, I signed a contract with South Coast Solar to install solar panels on our house (total cost: $25,500). Our contract states we have a 25 year Consumer Protection Plan with a full labor warranty. Specifically, our contract says:--"Limited 25 Year Material Warranty: SCS warrants they will enforce, to the fullest extent allowed, all manufacturers warranties, including the 25 year power output warranty of the photovoltaic modules installed on the purchasers residence. SCS will represent the purchaser and assist in handling any valid manufacturer warranty claims."In July 2021, I noticed that my electric bill was no longer showing a solar credit, and I talked with *********************** at SCS. In October 2021, *** came to my house and determined that the inverter would need to be replaced. *** said that this repair would be a major undertaking. He did not deny responsibility to make this repair but said that he did not have the manpower. I contacted him repeatedly in 2022, and every time, *** said he did not have the manpower to make the repair. But if they installed our original system, how could they not have the manpower to replace one component?In October 2022 (more than 16 months after I initially contacted him), *** told me to contact the manufacturer, Sun Panels, because *** would not commit to a date for repairs. On 9/27/22, I contacted Sun Panels and talked to **** (case no. ********). **** told me that Sun Panels has no responsibility for repairs and that my only recourse was through SCS.In our contract, SCS agreed to a full labor warranty and to assist with any manufacturer claims. But it has been 18 months since I first contacted them, and they have done nothing to fulfill their contractual obligations. I have lost 18 months of solar power plus time taken off from work to try to resolve this problem. I believe that SCS has acted in bad faith and given me the run around, hoping that I will give up on my claim. Thank you for your help.
