      Have money in origin bank and got text message that debit card was closed. Called origin and they did not know why but turned it back on. Approx 3 weeks later same thing again. Contacted bank again and after 2 days still have no notification or phone call as to reinstating it again. Terrible customer service

      The
      Compliance Risk Management Team has reviewed the circumstances surrounding the
      complaint submitted by **** ********* and have noted the following facts:
      Origin Bank’s records reflect the last transaction processed on the debit card was on April 14, 2024.
      The debit card account status was changed from closed to active on April 10, 2025, per Mr. *********** phone request.
      The account officer did attempt to contact Mr. ********* in April to explain the transaction requirements over the phone, however he was unsuccessful in reaching the customer, resulting in multiple voicemails.
      The debit card was closed again on May 16, 2025, due to the fact the debit card had not been used in the previous twelve (12) months.
      Origin Bank offers debit card alerts to inform customers of transactions and of any status changes on the debit card.  The debit card ending **** is currently registered for these alerts, which notified Mr. ********* of the status change on the debit card.
      At this time, we have not been able to identify, through our call records, a call being received from Mr. ********* on this matter on or after May 16, 2025, to research this further we would need more information on who he spoke with.
      The account officer has also attempted to reach Mr. ********* by phone this week regarding this matter; however, he has not been successful in reaching him.

      In
      effort to protect our customers and prevent potential fraud attempts and
      unauthorized transactions, Origin Bank sets debit cards with no activity for
      six (6) months to an inactive status and permanently closes the card after
      twelve (12) months of inactivity. 
      We
      had notified Mr. *********, via letter sent regular and certified mail on May
      23, 2025, to contact his account officer at the Ruston Financial Center to have
      a new debit card issued on his account. 
      We
      believe that this response fully addresses the concerns outlined in the correspondence
      received by the Better Business Bureau.
