I have been trying get my transcript from the Louisiana Delta Community College, an affiliate of Bossier Parish Community. Bossier has a hold on my transcript for past balance that has been included in my Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, yet the hold is on the account. I have tried to communicate within the school to get this matter resolved, but I have had to luck, and no response.

    Business Response

    Good Afternoon, Ms* *******,

Our apologies for you not receiving clear answers to date. I understand how frustrating that can be. After speaking with Student Accounts, I was able to learn that all 12 community colleges in the state of Louisiana are bound by laws steeming from the Attorney General's Office regarding the release of transcripts when there is a debt involved. I have attached the policy to my response, but I am also pasteing the portion of the policy that applies to your circumstance.

Unfortunately, there isn't anything we can do at the community college level to overide the rules in place. Let me know if you have an additional questions. You can reach me at ************.

    From Policy 5.008 Accounts Receivable

Financial holds may be overridden to release a transcript when one of the following conditions is met:
    1. The outstanding debt is paid in full to the college; or,
    2. Once the debt has been turned over to either the Attorney General’s Office or Office of Debt Recovery, the college confirms a payment plan with the AG or ODR has been established; and the college obtains a promissory note from the debtor memorializing the debt to support litigation should the debtor default on payment.

    Sincerely,

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: The amount owed was filied under my bankruptcy, which makes makes he no longer liable for the debt, do payment will not be received The clip of the information from your policies does not even hold steps pertaining to these form of situations. Which leaves me to believe there is legal information missing. Also that you do plan on releasing the transcript regardless.

You do plan on clear the drbt based on it being filed under my bankruptcy case, I would like the BBB to let me know other further actions can be take, I will alway notify BK attorney that you are not complying with government law under the BK code rules.

    Sincerely,

    Morning,
After reiterating to Student Account Department that Ms. ******* said she filed bankruptcy and inquiring how we need to address this, I was
    given this information:
The student has to provide proof to BPCC that the debt was
included/discharged in her bankruptcy.  Then BPCC has to verify that with
the Attorney General.  Once all of that is done, we need communication
from BPCC that we can release the transcript.
Please communicate that to Ms. ******** We want her to get what
    she needs.
