I have had two surgeries on my feet. First surgery I over paid the Baronne Foot Center by a little over $900. I was told by my local office in Lafayette to contact the office in Opelousas to discuss billing and the over payment being applied to my account. This over payment was done in 2019. I found out I had this over payment credit from my local office as no one ever contacted me to notify me nor to refund me my money. My second surgery was in Jan 2023. I contacted the Opelousas office again to make sure they would apply the over payment to my outstanding bill for surgery. I spoke both times with Alice who is in charge of billing. I was told that it would be applied. I called back in March as it was still not applied- I had to leave a message. Never got a phone call back. I thin canned again in May and spoke to Alice twice and both times she tells me they still cannot apply my over payment. I stayed they could just refund me what was due to me. All the sudden she says they owe me $600. I asked why? Where did the money go if it could not be applied to my acct? She could not tell me. I asked for a print out of my bills. She stated she could not give me one without the permission if the doctor! She said “if he approves it I will send it.” I said, “that will not work I am entitled to a print out of what I’ve paid Baronne Center.” I still have not received any call any email and print outs. Poor derive and word to the wise- make sure you get a print out of what you are paying! I smell fraudulent activity! I Still Want a Print Out Of My Bill still have not received it nor a refund of my money.

      Dear
      Bridget *******:

      In
regards to credit balance from the surgery deposit of $880.00
collected in 2019 for Ms. ******'s first surgery it was over looked
in error because of covid and short staffing. If Ms. ****** had
called me inquiring about her account balance at this time I would
have refunded the deposit then. The credit balance was noticed when
she scheduled her second surgery for January 2023. Ms. ****** was
informed the credit on her account would serve as her surgery deposit
      at Baronne Foot Center.

      I
have spoken to Ms. ****** several times explaining the credit on her
account will be applied to any patient responsibility for Baronne
Foot Center after her insurance process all charges on her account.
She may have other balances with other providers and the surgical
facility. We do not handle the billing for these providers and are
not able to apply payments to her balance with them. I have also
informed her we are having trouble getting her insurance to process
some of her surgery charges correctly. Therefore, we have had to
dispute the surgery charges with her insurance taking longer than
normal to process the claims. Once all charges have been paid by the
insurance we will refund any remaining credit balance directly to Ms.
      ******.

      Thank
      you,

      Alice

I am rejecting this response because:

I still do not see my over payment on this payment schedule you sent me. Baronne office owed me $980. They then said it was sent $980 but I had confirmed it twice before with my local office and with Alice when this whole ordeal started. Now six months later she is statin the amount owed was only $880 and then it went down to $660. I want to see my over payment and what it got applied to if she is stating they cannot apply it to my bill when then how did the amount dwindle?
Why wasn’t this print out given to me when I asked? Maybe if I had been a white client I would have gotten it and wouldn’t have had to go through the Better Business Bureau. My question is still not answered to boot. Where is that money I over paid? Why is it not showing on this print out attached?

      Sincerely,

      ****** ******
