Do NOT use this business unless you enjoy being ripped off and deal with dishonest people. They were called because the hot water was not working on one side of the house. The charge was over $1000 for 4 hours of labor which resulted in a broken shower handle that THEY broke and they refused to pay for. The plumber admitted that that he had broken it when it happened but he did not document that he was responsible in the notes and Meaux's refused to pay for the handle and stated it wasn't their responsibility. Also, the hot water heater was fixed by a simple reset of the hot water heater but were charged for the 4 hours of labor they chose to do before trying to reset it. I went to the business to speak to the owner hoping for a resolution or even some remorse but didn't receive either. In my opinion, its VERY BAD business!!

Meaux's was hired to temporarily remove and replace a sewer line in a renovation project I was doing. When they replaced the sewer line they used rubber couplings "Fernco Fittings" and guaranteed when questioned that they would not leak. Renovations were completed, and the house passed inspection prior to the holidays. During the holiday there was a loud noise under the home, and a sewage smell developed. The Fernco Fittings had failed, and that sewage had spilled under our home. The plumber arrived after the holiday, and stated that a loose board they had placed under the pipe to support it (rather then properly anchoring with fixed supports) had been knocked over. (This is not possible due to the fact that the home is fully sealed, and enclosed with rubber membrane.) The plumber snaked the toilet attached to the the faulty plumbing, leaving fecal material across the bathroom floors. The plumber informed me that he had placed the loose board back in position (again without anchoring it). He then left, and I was sent a bill for $240.00. I called for clarification on why I was being charged for the breakage of newly installed plumbing. The receptionist was very rude, and informed me that someone had knocked over board supporting my pipe. I explained this was not possible, and when I asked why a loose board was used to support a critical piece of plumbing I was given no reasonable explanation. I asked to speak to the manager, and was told I would be contacted. I never was. I called again and asked they send another plumber, and provide solution for my plumbing needs. A plumber came out, and stated that a better solution was needed. He stated that they'd be in contact with a solution. At this point I sent a check for the $240.00 with the expectation that they would return. Nearly 2 months have gone by with no word. I've called multiple times with no response. We ended up using another plumber to fix the issue.

The work details provided by Ms Brooks is not completely accurate.

On 3/15/2022, we were contacted about services.

This is the job details we were given:
MOVE SMALL SECTION OF SEWER LINE UNDER HOUSE FOR WATER PROOFING INSTALLATION
CALL MR. BROOKS ON THE WAY SO HE CAN MEET YOU THERE
HE WANTS TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT SOME OTHER WORK TO GET INFO FOR ESTIMATE
GET PICTURES AND DETAILS FOR ESTIMATE PLS
      **ALWAYS TAKE PICTURES!!**
EVERYTHING YOU WORK ON AND PAYMENTS

On the same day 3/15/2022, our technician entered his job notes:
crawled under house to cut out 3" pvc pipe, I only cut out about 5 foot piece of pipe, owner is going to call us back to connect pipe back together. owner changed his mind about estimate

On 3/17/2022, Mr/Ms Brooks called back for the following job details:
      RECONNECT SEWER LINE PIPING
      FIX WATER LEAK
      TAKE PICS
      ENTER NOTES
      LABOR/MATERIALS
      COLLECT PAYMENT

On 3/18/2022, our technician entered his job notes:
hooked up the 3" pipe we cut out the other day, we put 2 3" ferncos on the 3" pipe and a 2" Fernco on the 2" pipe for the bathtub, all is hooked up and no leaks!
we looked for the leak he said he had but we didn't find any leaks any where!

On 12/28/2022, Mr/Ms Brooks contacted our office with the following job detail:
      UNDER MASTER BEDROOM
RUBBER COUPLINGS WE INSTALLED ON SEWER LINES LEAKING
      HOUSE SMELLS BAD
      TOILETS STOPPING UP

On 12/30/2022, our technician entered his job notes:
Inspect for sewer leak under home
Found sewer piping disconnected and moved from original location
      Reconnected sewer line
      Draining properly
Inspect guest bath toilet not draining properly
      Augered toilet to unstop
      Flushed toilet several times
      Draining properly

Mr/Ms Brooks called the office on 12/30/2022 and spoke to me personally regarding the invoice and details for the repair made on 12/30/2022. I explained that we reconnected the sewer line under the house in March. Our technician indicated that it appeared the piping had been moved, whether that was done by an individual or animal is unknown. Whether it was an accident or not even aware it was moved is unknown. It was clear the connection had come loose. Mr/Ms Brooks also indicated on the phone that the Fernco was an improper way to repair the line. A Fernco connection is within plumbing code. As stated by Ms Brooks, the home passed inspection.

On the phone the day of the 12/30/2022 repair, we discussed the invoice total. We charged for the drive time (a charge we have in place for additional fuel/time on calls based on distance from our shop) and the fee to unstop the guest bath toilet. The repair/reconnection of the sewer line was under the Master Bath.

On 1/2/2023, we sent a different technician to inspect the work completed in March 2022 and the work completed on 12/30/2022. That technician entered the following job notes:
There is no slack to put in coupling. Will have to do some repiping because there is several fittings on makeups. There are 2 3" fernco and 1 2" fernco.

With the Fernco connections properly in place, a full line replacement under the home would be required to replace the Fernco connection with PVC connections. Since Meaux's did not install the original sewer line, and our work passed inspection (to code), we are not responsible for replacement of the sewer line due to customer preference of PVC connections.

Since 12/30/2022, we have not received any phone call from Mr/Ms Brooks. Our phone calls are recorded through our schedule software.

Meaux's Plumbing, LLC does not feel our plumbing work was in any way below standard or code.
