    I ordered an out door tankless hot water heater from Home Depot. I was encouraged by one of their representatives to allow Home Depot to install the unit. Universal Plumbing (The company Home Depot contracts out), came to install the unit June 7, 2024, and I was dissatisfied immediately afterwards. The unit installation appeared tacky. Cords/lines were hanging loosely, not tied together neatly, or tacked along the edge of the unit and the exterior wall. A hole was created to run a line inside the house, connected to the thermostat panel. I asked the technician if he was going to fill in the hole around the hose, and he reluctantly did without cleaning off the area. Rather than use a white filler to match the house, he used a clear filler, showing all the dirt created around the hole from drilling. After everything was done, the hot water from my bathroom sink turned to almost a trickle, and would not get hot. He said it was not his fault, but it worked before he installed the unit. Later in close examination by my son, it was noticed that one of the hoses had cuts. I felt with a $1,500 installation fee, I should have all new materials. I went to the company a couple times with pictures, and I made phone calls to them, and they just dismissed everything. One of the representatives agreed I should have new products, but stated the city inspector cleared the work. All they had to do was come out and replace the hose! I have been talking to Home Depot's Customer Care department. I requested the company retrieve their product and refund my money. It would be stressful to deal with this company for other issues, if they are going to give me push back for simply replacing a damaged hose. I have photos of the work, to support my claims. The company lacks integrity. As a side note, the wrong unit was ordered, but this same technician did not realize it was an indoor unit until he mounted it on the wall. I asked for another technician to put in the new unit, but was denied.
