I paid Professional Transmission $4500 to rebuild my automatic transmission and replace the rear main engine seal in February 2022. Little **** told me they would friction and steels, install a trans go kit , torque converter, seal's etc. Upon Picking up the car the transmission was doing the same thing it was doing when I dropped it off,(hard shift, torque converter not disengaging at a stop causing the engine to lope or or stall and problem codes ). They then had it for approx 10 day's telling me they replaced the transmission control module 3 times and everything was working . Still the same issue and even worse - no 5th or 6th gear in automatic or manual . I didn't get 2 miles before I drove it back . They then replaced the valve body. Same Issue ,t hey tried to place the blame on the brake switch ,then the Engine oil pressure switch which, I paid them to replace resulting in no change in the harsh shifting. The Fifth time I returned it, ***** told me it has cost him $15,000 so far to work on it stating that it cost him $3000 every time he puts it on a lift and, they will not work on it any more or honor the 20 month warranty. I contacted him several times about a refund with no response. My car has been parked at my home since because it is not safe to drive. I even had to rent a car so my wife could attend her brother's funeral in south Louisiana. I have talked with Kenny twice since then and was again told they don't know what is wrong with the transmission. I called the dealership and receive a quote of $5500 replace it. On july 22, 2022 I informed ***** I was filing a BBB complaint and, I will be filing a civil suit. I am a 67 year Disabled Veteran living off Social Security and my military retirement a lot of money to put out ending up with the same problem.

    Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/08/11) */
Mr. ******* brought in his vehicle for repair specifically asked for his transmission to be rebuilt as he seemed knowledgeable about his problem with his vehicle and what steps he wanted to take in repairing it. Before we rebuild a transmission we scan the operating system for trouble codes. His vehicle had 36 codes in between various modules that his vehicle has. We performed the rebuild of the transmission and it tested good. Mr. ******* pick his vehicle up and brought it back in a couple of days saying his problem with his transmission reoccurred. We did not diagnose the initial problem he was having but we have stood by our work. With every return we removed the transmission back out of his vehicle and have taken apart his transmission inspected each part and have found nothing wrong. Everytime we replaced his torque converter, and have even tried two valve body's. Everytime a repair was made the transmission tested good and it might have been a day to a couple of weeks but Mr. ******* would return and the vehicle would have the same codes. Mr. ******* was aware of this as he purchased the engine oil pressure sensor ahead of bringing the vehicle back and had us install that sensor. Mr. ******* has been very active in the process of diagnosing his vehicle with us. Not only that but we have replaced the "techum" transmission control module three times at our own expense. Any electrical component is not included with a normal rebuild and is not included in the cost of rebuilding his transmission. Professional Transmission replaced the control module on this transmission at no expense to Mr. ******* three separate times at a cost of 500 initially and have warranted this part also. It has been deemed that the transmission performing right one day and acting up the next is not due to a mechanical failure of the transmission but is due to the one or more of the various trouble codes his vehicle has. Either from the ecm to the engine or the wiring harness to said vehicle. Mr. ******* has been made aware of this and the fact a transmission will not work correctly if the engine or it's operating system has faults. Mr. ******* stated he had a neighbor that could figure out the engine problems whether it be wiring or even the vehicles engine computer. He stated that he was going to let his neighbor take the transmission out and go thru it again and at that point was advised he would void his warrantee if he did that. It is our position that the problems he has stated that he is experiencing is not a mechanical problem with the transmission but a operating / software problem with the powertrain control module, a wiring issue or a mechanical failure with his engine and until he addresses and repairs all the other trouble codes he has Professional Transmission will not be able to accurately diagnose his transmission control module problems. Professional Transmissions still stands by our work and is willing to assist with the electrical operating side of his transmission as well as continue to warranty his transmission throughout the remainder of said warranty.

    Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/08/12) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I Brought the Escalade in for transmission repair because it was harsh shifting and giving a POXXXXX SHIFT ******** **** 1 VALVE PERFORMANCE ****** *** CODE. ALSO , the transmission had over 230,000 miles and time to get rebuilt. I believed the torque converter locked causing the motor mount to break WHICH I replace both motor mounts AND, in the process damaged the ENGINE oil pressure switch. Because the oil pressure switch was in a very confined place I chose to have it replaced later. IT does not interfere with the operation of the transmission BUT, can put the engine in limp mode and affect gas mileage BUT!! they wanted to blame it on that. The brake switch was intermittent not allowing for cruise control for over 6 month but no effect on the operation of the transmission.
AS For dropping the transmission 4 times that did not happen because there are only two cut marks on the exhaust where it was cut off to drop the transmission. I doubt there were 36 codes wrong with the car BUT, the one's that were there were for mirrors, blend door ETC.. minor areas that do not effect the operation of the transmission.
The first time I picked it up it started harsh shifting after the firs 100 miles, The second time they told me they drove it home to DOYLINE and back with no problems which was funny because I drove it less than 2 miles when I had to return because of no 5th or 6th gear.
There is nothing wrong with the ECM and NO ECM CODES are being shown. The only other revenant code showing now other that then previously was a bank 2 lean because where they welded the exhaust back together they got metal slag on the sensor.

I have been holding off having any repairs done to the transmission awaiting on my BBB complain. NO ONE !!! my neighbor included has touched that car since I brought it home after ***** refusing to work on it further. It has been parked in my driveway because it is UNSAFE to drive.

***** and ******* admitted to me they did not machine the transmission oil pump or, check for a crack in the clutch housing (KNOWN ISSUE). When I initially talked to Lil **** he told me they would replace all steels and frictions, install a trans go kit, pressure the lines, and I also requested an new oil pressure pump in the bell housing.

MY next step is to have the transmission pulled and inspected to see if what they promised they performed.
