      My mother is the owner of the house at *** *** ****** *** Delhi, La. She has since passed in leaving myself and my older brother the property. I have lived in this residence since before she passed until this day. My aunt ***** ****** has never lived in my home at all. But some way my electric bill is in her name. For over 2 years I've tried constantly to get my electric account in my name but Northeast Power insist that I have to have her permission before anything can be done. I paid a $500 deposit on this account myself in the office to get the lights turned on. I never signed off for her name to ever be added to the account. I tried to let the account close but the employee at Northeast Power wouldn't open a new account unless I paid ****** ****** account out to a $0.00 balance and pay another security deposit. That would cost me over $1000 plus the $500 I really put as a security deposit. I want my electric account in my name like the rest of my bills. ****** ****** doesn't live at this *** *** ****** *** and never has. Northeast Power wants me to pay the bill completely and another security deposit after I already paid $500. I think it's ethically wrong and illegal that someone could just add themself to your light bill. At anytime she can have my lights cut off and I can't do anything about it, just keep paying a bill in her name. Something should be done about this immediately.
