Toledo Bend Repair Services DBA Unlimited Docks did an outstanding job on my boathouse on Toledo Bend Lake. The construction crew were professional, safe, and offered great suggestions during the build of my boathouse. Their quality of work was outstanding! I look forward to making great memories with my family and friends on my new boathouse. Great Job!

Matt ****** (sp?) is the owner of Toledo Bend Repair Services, LLC and Unlimited Docks in the Toledo Bend Reservoir area. I contracted with him to re-deck my pier and boat house as well as some other work to the boat house. Before I could get some other bids for the job, Matt said that I had to give him an answer by Friday because he had other jobs to do and needed an answer. After signing the contract, Matt told me that the job would take about a week to finish. Well, the job took longer than promised and when I called about the delay, he said that no date for completion was in the contract. I paid one half of the price up front, and had to threaten withholding the balance unless the job was completed promptly to my satisfaction. The job was finished in two days. Upon inspection, the job was not completed as stated in the contract, and I had to call him back out to finish the job. After paying him the balance, I did get my other bid, in writing, from a competitor which was $4500 less. Matt gave me no such estimate, only a verbal estimate. Upon further inspection, I found that the door to a storage closet that Matt's crew had built would not close properly. I called him again to fix the problem, but he has refused to answer calls or text messages. He has my money, and I guess he feels that he is finished. Please be aware that Matt and those like him are in this area, and will prey on trusting and unsuspecting customers. This transaction was a very costly lesson to learn.

In response to to Mr. Jack ********* review. First, this customer is extremely hard to please. Secondly, there was absolutely No Pressure put upon him to let us do the job for him. He stated to us that he HAD TO have a contract by that Friday because he was leaving to go home to Baton Rouge because his wife had to have a major surgery. Again we put zero pressure upon this customer. The delay this man is speaking of is because we wanted him to approve what was done before any work was further carried out. Keep in mind there were a few days of rough weather so when there is no date for completion it is for a reason. Any contractor on this lake knows you can not determine the weather. We phoned Mr. ******** several times during this period to check on his wife and to give him updates. We done this job for this customer as a favor to him because we were in the area already. He could have gotten any estimates that he wanted from anyone, but he wanted it done by a certain time because he had family coming up and he wanted his son to be able to go onto his dock and not have to worry about falling in. His dock was in bad bad shape and we normally DO NOT do any repair work, but done him a favor. We always at the end of any job that we do ask for a punch list to fix anything that the customer does not like before getting paid the ending balance. Not only did our crew that this man is bashing go to the job and fix the door, but they also fix other things that were not agreed to for us to complete just so that the man would be completely satisfied. Also, this man is not telling you about the free work that was given to him either. We done dirt work for this man for completely free. Anyone that we have done work for knows that we have a lengthy contract and no money is taking up front. The last day that our crew was there to fix the door and finish the inside shelving, we met with this homeowner and he had absolutely nothing but good to say and how he was happy about the repair work and even showed us his racing boat. Again, we aim to please and unfortunately, your not going to please every customer it simply not possible. I hate that his feelings changed, but we did not in any way take advantage of Mr. ******** and are not sure as to why he is trying to ruin our name. We do quality work. We aim to please and do that very well. We have countless customers that are more than satisfied and that is what matters. Thanks for this review I just wish if the review was going to be written, It could have at the least been accurate.

This rebuttal will be the last time that I deal with Mr. *****. I will not get involved in a pissing match, but I will respond to his allegations. Like most consumers, I expect a good job at a fair price. If that is "hard to please", then so be it. My wife's surgery was in February, and while serious, it was not major, just out patient. According to the contract I signed, half of the fee had to be paid up front, with the balance upon completion. So, Matt's assertion that I wanted the job done quickly, is bogus. The only phone calls made to me during construction were from my two sons who were on sight and keeping me updated on the progress of the work. They were appalled at the lack of effort and efficiency of the job. The only calls made were by me to Mr. ***** to please complete the job in the time frame that he said he would. Regarding the punch list, a worker had to come out and finish adding shelves to the storage closet that were part of the contract work specs. They NEVER fixed the door. Fixing the door is what started the letter writing as the job was not finished in a satisfactory manner. I had to hire another crew to come fix the door which took less than 30 minutes. The "free work" alluded to was offered after I remarked that a contractor Mr. ***** had recommended did not finish another job started earlier. By the way, that free job wasn't free. The extra $4500 dollars charged more than made up for the dirt work. Having since hired other people to finish the work on the boathouse closet, I asked them if they knew of Matt *****. Everyone of them said that they knew him, and they then laughed and shook their heads, and said that they were sorry that I had to go through what I did. Sometimes lessons are learned the hard way, but that is how life is. My only intention was to warn others to not make the same mistake I made.

P.S. Mr. Gahan: You need a grammar lesson. Your writing is horrible!
