    We paid for a full season of club soccer that will begin November 2024 on May 22 2024. On June 12th we were informed the coaches she has played for for the past 8 years had a falling out and were parting ways with FC Stars. Rather than refunding our money, FC Stars is stating we signed a contract and refunds will not be given. They stated they would be in touch with a final decision on June 18. I have no idea what happened between the coaches and the club but having been a customer for over 5 years I am shocked that they are holding players responsible. We signed up to play for the coaches we have played for for the past 8 years. Now that they have left there is no certainty, we have not heard of any plan. Also- my daughter has an anxiety disorder and being forced to play for a new coach is not what we want to put our hard earned money towards. It is my position that the team we signed up to play on, the coaches we expected to play for does not exist and the money should be refunded. I am happy to provide additional detail

    The customer does not provide an accurate representation of the situation the club found itself in due to an untimely and unprofessional resignation on behalf of two coaches within the club.  These coaches did not have a "falling out" with the club and had expressly stated in writing their commitment to the club for the 2024-2-25 season.  ******** had restructured its regional management in full transparency with both coaches and the families impacted and had communicated said restructuring to all by email in early May, weeks before tryouts and registration occurred. These coaches then held tryouts for FC Stars, encouraged their players to sign agreements with FC Stars for the 2024-2025 season and then abruptly resigned one day after tryouts were complete.  Within a couple of hours of their resignation e-mail the club was flooded with demands for refunds from families that were in communication with these coaches, including the Complainant. The coaches in question were then quickly announced as joining another club and presumably were followed by the players of families demanding refunds.  



    The Complainant and around 40 other customers demanded refunds for two main reasons.  One is that the training venue had been changed and that the new location was not acceptable to them, despite being informed of this change around a month prior to tryouts and registration.  Thus, registration occurred with full knowledge before the fact. The second issue was the resignation of the coaches they expected to have for the 2024-2025 season.  The player agreement is with FC Stars, not with individual coaches, and the club has a well-trained staff, with experience and qualifications for the most part greater than the coaches that resigned and the club communicated the intention to appoint qualified alternates. Additionally, after accepting a player agreement in writing, the registrant is well aware of the language contained in said agreement that "no refunds will be provided under any circumstances".  With regard to the complainant, he,and all others, was expressly informed by e-mail on June 13 that the club had been taken unawares by this shocking development and would provide a formal response on refund requests on Tuesday June 18, which indeed occurred.  The Complainant made the complaint to BBB on June 14, with full knowledge of the club's intention to respond on June 18.  It is the club's opinion that these families were manipulated into leaving FC Stars by these coaches, thus the club did not hold the families fully responsible and offered a full refund minus an admin fee to cover fixed expenses incurred in the tryout and registration process.



    As a result of these actions, FC Stars immediately lost close to $100,000 revenue from these refunded registrations and in addition are now unable to fill out teams where registrations had been offered and then refunded, negatively impacting future revenues and our reputation in the soccer community as a result.  It is the viewpoint of the club that manipulation of events by the coaches in question has occurred and is in violation of their contracts of employment with FC Stars, which expressly includes a non-solicitation agreement. Thus, legal proceedings against these two coaches are currently under consideration.
