I and my party also had a horrible experience with Lark Hotels, Ocean Point Inn. They canceled our room reservations late Friday afternoon of Labor Day Weekend 2022. The rooms had been booked in May 2021. We were planning to arrive on Tuesday after Labor Day Weekend and now had nowhere to stay!! We have stayed at Ocean Point Inn for many years and always had a delightful time. We booked early, purchased gift certificates at discount, and anticipated a week of seafood and sunsets. Sadly, this has changed for the worse. Not only was our vacation ruined, but the rude and obnoxious treatment by the Ocean Point Inn staff was inexcusable. They were defensive, inept, uncoordinated, and unprofessional. In particular, speaking to the Regional Manager rose to the level of abusive interaction I have never experienced in my life.Be warned that Ocean Point Inn is no longer the welcoming and well-managed resort we have previously enjoyed.

I'm terribly sorry that your plans for Labor Day 2022 were canceled and that we failed to communicate with you in a timely and professional way. We purchased the property in March of 2022 and worked hard to try and open it for the 2022 season while we in tandem were planning a remodel for the early fall and winter of 2022/2023. We certainly should have been ahead of communicating with you and working with you to find a solution that worked for you and your plans. We do take your feedback very seriously and never want to disrupt guests plans as we are in the business of making memories...I again am sorry that we failed you. I do believe the work we've done over the last year will transform Ocean Point Inn and that the experience going forward will be exceptional. I have a serious complaint about Ocean Point Inn. We stayed there sept26-29. When we arrived we were informed there is no maid service. And if we needed fresh towels we had to pick them up at the desk. Also to dump our dirty towels outside our door. We did both and the dirty towels remained outside our door for the rest of our stay. The room smelled like it hadnt been cleaned all summer. The next morning we went down to breakfast (which was always included with the room) and were told that it was a ***** charge per person. We said we made our reservations in June and were never informed. They said oh people who made their reservations in May still got free breakfast but tough for you. Since we were there already we ate. The coffee tasted like it had been sitting in the pot for days. My quiche came out cold and uncooked. My husbands pancakes were cold and still had the batter inside. The bacon was old. I was given only one piece of toast! And when I asked for another it took ten minutes. Id hate to think how long things were sitting around. We paid and even tipped the surly waitress. I think her non helpful daughter was running the front desk. All in all a poor introduction to Lark hospitality. And a poor way for Lark Hospitality to run a resort that has been loved by so many in the past.

I am terribly sorry for your experience with us in September of 2022. We purchased the property in late Spring of 2022 and transitioned to opening in June of 2022. I will not offer excuses as I do not want to deflect from the fact that we failed you in your experience. We typically take over a property and shut it down and remodel it and put our systems in before opening, but by the nature of the timeline jumped into the season, this obviously not being the best for you. The buildings were in great disrepair when we purchased it to include many opportunities with how they may smell. We have since taken the property down and have undergone a major renovation from the fall of 2022 through this winter with a planned reopen date in Mid-June.I'd be happy to speak with you about your stay and work hard to get you back for another visit.Again, I am sorry we failed you.If you'd like to speak, I can be reached at ********************************
