I had my driveway redone by this company. The quote stated he would add 6 of gravel and that didnt happen. The pavement has been falling apart since week 1. After he got payment for the Job he had gone M.I.A with only 1 response claiming he will contact me to fix it but hasnt responded in months.

On or about September 26th, *********************** of ************************** Asphalt Paving, came to my house to discuss dealing with two issues at the end of our driveway: 1. A severe bump and 2. the water that drained down the driveway went to one side of the town sewer grate rather than into it. We agreed to the scope and cost of the work. On October 20th the work was started and completed. While the bump was fixed to our satisfaction, it was clear with the next rain storm that the water was still going to the side of the grate and not into it. ****************** was unresponsive to emails on November 22 and December 9th which contained both a description and a video of the issue. ****************** was also not responsive to a letter sent on January 4, 2024, requesting an answer by Jan 20th.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/30/2024

I was hired to do the work as stated in Mr. ************************  I completed the work as I said I would and all of the water flows out of the driveway and I removed the bump in his driveway.  The drain is located in the street.  As explained to ****************, I cannot touch the depth of the drain or the street as they are *************.  According to his statement the water is pooling next to the drain at the street level.  It is not in his driveway.

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding as I currently have an ********* and strive for satisfied customers every time.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 02/01/2024

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

While it is inarguable that the sewer grate is *************, the driveway work went all the way up to the grate as can be seen in the attached pictures.  Theoretically the asphalt could have been properly graded so that the water would flow down the driveway and into the drain, rather than what it did prior to the work and still currently does, as shown in the annotated photograph and was illustrated in the video sent via email on November 22nd.  The water doesn't pool, it just doesn't go into the drain.

    Regards,

    Rob
