The response to our request for a home visit was prompt, and the technician arrived swiftly to diagnose the issue. The diagnosis revealed a faulty pressure switch, and the technician carried out the necessary checks efficiently. However, the subsequent charges for the service were unexpectedly high. The labor costs amounted to nearly $200, which seemed quite steep. Moreover, the cost for replacing the pressure switch was an exorbitant $538 ( Amazon ship free the same part for $20-$45) These charges appear to be excessively inflated and have left us feeling quite discontented with the overall service. It is our hope that this feedback will be taken into consideration to review the pricing structure for parts and labor, and we expect a REFUND. Already agreed Gervais refund of $50 is NOT acceptable. Absolute ripoff, along with shady business practices. They were prompt and courteous, but that's about it. The technician came and had to replace a $200 part on my boiler, it took him under an hour to do the work. A simple ****** search showed at least 10 places to buy the exact part, all around $200. No other parts were needed for this repair, I researched what is involved. I was charged almost $1000, including their $89 diagnostic fee just to walk in the door. So apparently it's a $600+/hour labor rate? I'm obviously in the wrong line of work. This was not an off hours emergency call either, it was a scheduled appointment in the middle of a weekday. The shadiest part of the entire thing was that on the invoice (that they email you later) they bury all the cost, it's not itemized i.e. labor vs parts cost. It just says replaced (part) = $1000. A super scummy and shady way to run a "professional" business, taking advantage of people who don't know any better. I wouldn't be surprised if they also sell used cars. Never again Gervais. Horrible experience from day one. They installed a Lennox ducted mini split system in August 2022. First cold weather the system completely stopped working, it was 51 degrees inside when it was 35 degrees outside!! The system kept running but was blowing ice cold air inside. It caused our ******** **** bill to go from $300 a month to over $1100 a month because it was constantly running and running. They also upgraded our electric system to 200amp and was supposed to remove the knob and tube wiring in our house. To that fact ******** **** came out for a random inspection of our outdoor lines after a storm in late 2023 and noticed the meter box installed by Gervais was installed with the electric system live and was actively smoldering. Also right at the same time manager Josh admitted that they installed the incorrect system for our house and was not made for New England weather!!! Also to this day our electric system causes intermittent blackouts!! They damaged our floors, broke our oil boiler that was supposed to be operating per our original contract for legitimate secondary heat source!! They have costed us nearly $60,000 in damages and extra expenses!! Customer relations manager Marissa didn’t seem concerned at all when I mentioned they nearly burnt our home down with my family inside for over a year!! She also stated when I contacted my lawyer and threatened to sue them that since we didn’t include exact numbers that Gervais didn’t care about situation and they have done enough to help with a very partial settlement. Something needs to be done to stop this company!!! I provided receipts and photographic evidence and proof and they joked it off!!Gervais Mechanical Services LLC

Yet another great job by Gervais -- on time, well done and the right price. Our "old" water heater decided to leak, spraying water onto the floor. This happened just as we were leaving for a week-long trip. Luckily I found it in time to shut off the water source, preventing further damage. During our week away, our daughter worked with Gervais to install a brand new heater, so when we arrived home all we had to deal with was a little bit of soaked carpet.The job was professionally done, quickly and at a price we could afford. This is NOT our first time with Gervais; about a year ago they replaced our furnace. Both jobs were of outstanding quality, and were quite easy (for us!). I enthusiastically recommend Gervais, we will certainly be back with them should the need arise.Gervais Mechanical Services LLC

To whom it may concern, ***** and I greatly appreciate you servicing us with a clogged sink today at * ********** ** in ********* **, but we don’t understand why it cost us nearly $700 dollars for (2) guys for 45 minutes of work to auger ONE drain. I work for a local electrician and HVAC company and we bill out at $125/hr. We were told you would give us an estimate after the $89 consult fee but that never happened. We paid you nearly $700 for 45 minutes of work. This is blatantly taking advantage of your customers. We received a request to review your service but before we do, please let me know what work and material was required to total $700 for 45 minutes of work when nothing was replaced? I understand the emergency call, but it was during the work week and completed in the morning hours this Friday, 7/26. Not sure if I’m missing something, but just want to be clear on the cost since we are still waiting for the receipt from your company even though payment was submitted hours ago. If you are charging $650/hr +per hour for a foreman and apprentice, I think it’s important that you list your rates on your site. Please let me know if I was told the incorrect information so I can respond appropriately to the request to review your service. $700 is beyond unacceptable for this service call and I hope you have a sales rep call me asap to discuss this further. 1 starThey installed my water heater so far away from my fixtures that I never have any hot water. It takes at least a minute, usually two, before the water runs warm. I told them TWICE where I wanted it to be, and they claimed it couldn't be done--a lie. When I complained, they tried to upsell me with a "recirc line" for another couple grand. Complained to state, but the Consumer Protection folks can only mediate, not dictate, so I'm going to have to file a claim in court. If you have had a similar experience, let me know and maybe we can expand this to a class-action lawsuit.Review fromGertrude R

1 starGervais came to my home in ******* and did some work for me. During a second visit with a different employee, same company, different problem, I was told their was something wrong with the installation. I called Gervais and told them what their own employee had said to me. I requested a return visit to fix the problem that was not functioning correctly according to Gervais' own employee. Gervais put me off when I called them to schedule a revisit because they first had to order the parts. That was about two months or more ago. Gervais Never contacted me about fixing the problem right. I had to get another company to fix the problem.Review fromJay D

1 starDo not trust. Called in for a quote, on the phone the team had mentioned a $99 dispatch fee then a flat fee would be told when they arrive. The flat fee they had mentioned to me on-site was $500 (including the $99 dispatch fee). At the end they had charged me $700 and worst part about it was they did not even fix anything. Most of the time the technician was in his van, do not know why I was even charged an extra for work done. Be very careful as I feel like I was very much mislead.
