My name is ************************* and I am reaching out regarding my outstanding bill for the *** program that I was in. I enrolled in this program last year and was told about a scholarship that I was going to receive. The scholarship was going to be $1500 and I would be responsible for the remainder which shouldve been ~$200. I was completely fine with that so I went ahead and did my first assignment for the class around 9/6/2022. Shortly after, I tried to log in to do a different assignment and realized that I couldnt on 9/11/2022. I messaged back and forth with *********************** and realized that there were some financial aid issues going on because the financial aid office had no record that I was supposed to receive a scholarship. My balance did not reflect what I thought it should be. I was actively trying to sort this out while class was still going on and I was still unable to be in the class. As of 9/13/2022, this still wasn't rectified with the financial aid office and I was about a week behind in class already. After this, I was told that I was dropped from the class and I was still trying to figure out the financial aid situation. I was then told that the scholarship that I was receiving was for the entire program whereas, I thought it would apply to my class that I was currently enrolled in. This was my first time hearing of this and I was already behind on my coursework. It did not give me much time to come up with a financial plan for the class. In my messages with *******, I was under the impression that this would be going toward my MGMT class that I was enrolled in. I then decided not to proceed with the class since I could not provide the money in the timeline that was needed for me to be in good financial standing. To my knowledge, this was the end of this for me. I spoke with my advisor and told her that I did not want to move forward but I would be in touch about rejoining the program in the future. I found out in September 2023 that sometime during this ordeal, I was added back into the class. I cant fully wrap my head around why I would be added back into a class that I was dropped from for being in bad financial standing. I have tried to reach out to the university multiple times about this and have received no response but yet I am still receiving a bill. Ultimately, I do not understand why I am being asked to pay the full cost of a class that I was dropped from within the first week of classes. I do not think I should be paying the same price as someone who completed the course and Lasell University has made no effort to rectify this with me.

    Business Response

    Hello,
Thank you for sending this information. We have zeroed out this student's account. There is no balance left with the institution since she did not understand the terms of her scholarship. She did not pay for the class and the institutional policy is to drop students due to non-payment and a reversal of the cost of the course was completed.
    Thank you,
