    I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.fund despite everything I relayed to them , offering only replacement of the alternator with the same off brand part. Riggio knowingly used an improper part in my repair leading to lingering issues with my car as well as several hours wasted without my car while they did not provide proper service and denied my claims. Since westford ***** repaired my car on 29APR, all symptoms have resolved. ************** also identified other issues with my car requiring attention , and they were completed. Riggio Auto is a deceptive and incompetent organization. I am requesting a refund of the charges incurred from the installation of the faulty alternator.

    Hi *****. When you brought your vehicle back with the complaint of the charging system message, we were unable to duplicate the condition we even drove the vehicle as you stated and the message never appeared in the display. We check the charging system and wiring, we tested the battery connections and cables and found no issues. We scan tested the vehicle for trouble codes and found a trouble code for the battery sensor in history and not a current code. We then tested the battery sensor and that tested fine at the time. We discussed this with you and recommended replacing the battery sensor because of age and a past code for this. We didn't charge any labor for this and only charged for the part. We retested the system after replacing the sensor and were still unable to duplicate any condition. We discussed this with you and advised to let us know if the message returned. We didn't hear from you until the day you called and said that the vehicle was at ***** being repaired and they said that the alternator was defective. You said you wanted a refund and I discussed with you that our warranty is 2 years ***** miles and we stand behind our work. We also discussed that I would replace the alternator under warranty with a genuine ***** alternator based on the diagnosis of the ***** dealer even though we were never able to duplicate the condition while it was here. After some hesitation and threats by you to have your attorney contact us you finally agreed to bring the vehicle in the next day. We ordered the alternator from ******************************* in **********. You never brought you vehicle as agreed and you never contacted us again. I received your complaint from the BBB that you want a complete refund for the total repair cost which includes replacement of the battery, which there is no problem with. As I initially discussed with you we would replace the alternator with a ***** part based off of the ***** dealer's diagnosis, but we were not going to refund the total cost of the initial repair invoice which included other parts that are not nor have ever been in question,

    Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered. 

    I was never informed by anyone that the alternator was ordered from a ***** dealership.  If this was the case , then why did the issues with the charge system persist?  I was told repeatedly by multiple people at the shop that nothing was wrong.  ***** Westford did proper diagnostics and found that the alternator was faulty, which was diagnosed by detecting drops in voltage.   How were they able to diagnose this so quickly ?  Since they have repaired the car properly , my car has been running perfectly.  A replacement alternator was only offered to me because I called from ***** Westford requesting a refund. I was then given a condescending rebuttal explaining that the alternators were vetted and had a warranty.  A 2 year warranty means nothing if the parts are not correct.  Why would I come back? So the same part could be installed and Id have to return to the shop again ?  I already wasted several hours being without my car and going to the shop and was not going to continue. My car was never right since you initially treated it , and after just a few hours at ************** , my car was completely fixed. I should not be 100% responsible for the cost of the original alternator repair based on how  I was dismissed of my concerns and how inferior the overall quality of work ultimately came to be revealed.

    When you called me from ***** in ******** and explained what they had found, I agreed to replace the alternator based on their diagnosis even though every time we tested it the voltages were correct with alternator under load and not under load. I said I would replace it with a ***** alternator and after much resistance you finally agreed to bring it in  the next day. I ordered the alternator from ******************************* in ********** and you never showed up or called to cancel the appointment.I am willing to refund the part cost of the alternator plus tax ($626.11), but I am not going to refund the total invoice amount which includes replacement of the battery as well. Let me know how you would like to proceed.
