    Very Disappointed – Costly Errors and Poor Accountability
    My experience with Mass Renewables has been extremely frustrating. Their mishandling of paperwork for the SMART Battery ADDER incentive delayed my payments by more than two years and cost me approximately  $1,300 — not including interest, time, or labor.
    They sold me a battery backup system in 2021, to be added to my existing solar array (originally installed by another provider). They assured me I would qualify for the SMART incentive but later admitted they had never handled this type of project before (adding batteries to an existing solar system, who is no longer in business). Despite that, they went ahead with the sale and installation without fully understanding the requirements.
    They didn’t even contact the SMART program administrators until October 2024 — more than two years after installation. Once they finally followed the correct process, I began receiving incentives in under two months (starting November 26, 2024). This proves how easily it could have been resolved if they had done their due diligence upfront.
    Worse, the company never took responsibility. The owner made excuses instead of offering any kind of resolution. I asked only for reimbursement of missed payments — no interest or fees — and was met with deflection and irrelevant questions.
    Now I’m being forced to take legal action to recover what I’m owed. It’s incredibly disappointing that a resolution couldn’t be reached more reasonably.
    Bottom line: Mass Renewables was unprepared, failed to communicate clearly, and avoided accountability when things went wrong. I would not recommend them.
