***************************** Painting Contractor. I looked for reviews of him as a painting contractor and did not find any, wish I had seen the reviews below. We had heard from a prior customer that they were satisfied with the job. As was related below he "presented" as trustworthy and reported 30 years of experience. He was hired to repoint the foundation masonry, replace rotting clapboard and wood edging. At the initial walk through there was a lot of wood to be replaced on this 100 year old house. This was to be followed by prime coating and painting the entire exterior of this 2 story house. Just to state it straight out: it took over 3 months to complete a horribly executed exterior paint job. The masonry started and then the ***** quit? ***'s team started priming and painting the exterior. The ********* was not available so they just went ahead and put on final coats. What ? Now a lot of what needed to be replaced was hidden. The ********* never showed so he had his team of 2 inexperienced painters do the wood work. This was very intermittent work (half days for 3 months) The job was sloppy with total disregard for our property. Initially they blocked a fire exit with ladders, left trash right next to garbage cans attracting rats, promised to cover window screen but instead tore one and splashed paint on more than 75% of screens. The fix to the screens was to cover the drips with black. Not a fix, the screens are still ruined. Planned not to paint one side of house because it was difficult. Drips, spills, new paint cracking, paint on windows and fixtures. The worst infraction was the day they did not lock up. I came home at night with my front door wide open. Left a message that this was outrageous and placed me and my house at great risk. Next day no apology and blamed it on us. Should have fired him that day. Completely unprofessional the throughout the process. *** was too tired and angry to do a final walk around, he made his kid do it?!? Do not hire this man.
