      I hired *************************** of Matson, *********************************************** ("MDD") to serve as a valuation expert on my behalf, to (1) perform a valuation of my equity holdings and (2) serve as an expert witness on my behalf. I entered into a November 2021 engagement letter w/MDD which estimated the cost of this engagement at approximately $35,000. After several weeks of work, without any warning, notice, or request to approve additional work, I received an invoice for over $80,000!!! I protested and ******************** responded that he was unwilling to make any adjustment to the ******** and in fact, insisted that he would "not appear for an upcoming deposition" unless I paid the bill in full! I was outraged and found this to be a completely unprofessional and extortionate position but nevertheless, I was forced to pay the bill or have no representation at the deposition hearing. I later complained to Managing Director *********************** who has been equally unwilling to engage in any meaningful dialogue and the situation remains (to me) unresolved.
