Our company subscribed to Semrush, a digital marketing platform, in 2024 for a one-year plan, paid in full upfront. The employee who initially set up the account is no longer with the company, and the tool was not used thereafter. We reasonably assumed the subscription would expire after one year.On May 23, 2025, Semrush charged our company credit card $1,299.95 without prior notice. This charge was the result of an automatic renewal that we were unaware of until the transaction occurred.Upon review, we found that Semrush did not provide any renewal notice within 30 to 60 days before the renewal date, as required by Californias Automatic Renewal Law (ARL), specifically Business and Professions Code Section *****. This law mandates that companies disclose automatic renewal terms clearly and conspicuously, and that they send a reminder notice before renewing subscriptions that last one year or longer. After thoroughly reviewing all email communications from Semrush over the prior three months, we found no such notice was provided. This omission appears to be a clear violation of California law.We have contacted Semrush multiple times to request a cancellation of the renewed subscription and a full refund. They have refused, citing the original contract. However, our complaint is not about the contract itself but the fact that Semrush failed to send the legally required renewal notice, depriving us of the opportunity to cancel on time.Desired Resolution:We are seeking a full refund of $1,299.95 for the automatic renewal that occurred without proper notice, in violation of Californias ARL. We also request that our subscription be canceled immediately. We hope Semrush will choose to act in accordance with consumer protection laws and uphold fair business practices.

      1. I was charged on May 30, 2025 for ****** (or equiv. USD ******) for 1 year of services from SemRush 2. I wrote on Apr 4, 2025 the following "Writing to you to request a Refund for ****** from a Semrush charge dated 30 March 2025. That charge was apparently for a website now deprecated (******************)"3. Semrush has the following ********************* policy "Refund requests: Semrush offers a one-time, 7-day money-back guarantee, subject to the terms outlined below. Refunds under this policy are only available to customers who have purchased a subscription directly from ************************** using a credit card. To be eligible for a refund, you must submit a written refund request within 7 calendar days of placing your initial online subscription order or your initial additional license add-on order."4. Initially, I purchased a subscription from ************************** using my personal credit card.

On 5-5-25, I was charged $4,539.83 by SEMrush, Inc. for an annual subscription renewal. I had not received any notice or reminder ahead of the renewal, and I had not actively used the platform in many months, probably close to a year.Upon discovering the charge, I immediately submitted a cancellation and refund request. While SEMrush acknowledged I had not been using the platform and accepted my cancellation, they refused to issue a refund. They cited terms of service and claimed they are not obligated to send pre-renewal notifications due to their B2B model.I escalated to senior leadership, who confirmed that no renewal notice was sent, but still denied a refund.I believe this is an unfair and unethical billing practice. For high-value renewals like this, a notification should be standard. Retaining payment for an unused service, without clear communication, is not acceptable.I am seeking a full refund of the $4,539.83 renewal that occurred without notice or usage.

I was "working" for this company Kompyte where I would complete a set number of tasks per day and receive a commission at the end of the task submission. Well I noticed that they began asking me to make "deposits" in order to complete the tasks and be able to withdraw my commission. These deposits amounted to thousands of dollars. Even after making the deposits, I am never able to cash in and make my withdrawals and receive my commission. There are always more and more deposits needed to be made in order to receive my withdrawal. I have lost over $10,000 in deposits with this company.

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. The last exchange I had with the company was 3/18/25 in which they asked me to deposit $9,164.83 in order to receive my "commission". I have not been compensated to date. Instead, I'm being asked to make more and more deposits to the company to which I do not have any money left.

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a fraudulent account that was created under my name with exploding topics by SEMrush, which has resulted in unauthorized charges to my bank account. I was charged $3,000 for a subscription to SEMrush, a service I did not sign up for, nor did I give permission for any transaction involving my personal or financial information. The fraudulent account in question was created using my personal information, including my bank account details, and an email address that does not belong to me. I have attempted to contact SEMrush customer support on multiple occasions to resolve this issue and request a refund, but they have refused to issue any form of reimbursement despite that the account was created fraudulently. This unauthorized charge is a serious concern, and I am requesting your assistance in addressing this matter. The fraudulent transaction has caused significant financial distress, and I seek the following resolutions:1.A full refund of the $3,000 charge made to my *********** formal investigation into the creation of this fraudulent account and the charges associated with it.3.Immediate steps to ensure my personal and financial information is protected from further misuse.

The *********** Prowly, which is owned by Semrush is using my photo without permission. That photo was taken by someone and I had used it as a ******* profile picture a long, long, long time ago. I went on to delete that image but clearly, this company decided to use it. What kind of ethics does this ********** have if they are using my image without permission and in spite of asking them to remove it from their website, I have not received any response from them. This is disgusting behaviour. I would like my image removed ASAP. *************************************************

The company, ******, which says was acquired by Semrush is using a photo I took of **** **** without permission. Both **** **** and I want this photo taken down immediately. This photo was on Ms. ***** ******* profile years ago but she took it down. Clearly, Semrush and Prowly scraped the internet and have put up this photo in violation of copyright and privacy. We want this photo taken down immediately. ************************************************* ************************************************************************

SemRush takes part in preditory practices. They offer a free trial, but when you try to cancel it, they won't send you a confirmation email that cancels your account. You can't get anyone live. It's preditory, and it cost me $129

Cancelled account on 8/30. Was billed additional month. Tried to dispute, however would not give a refund because customer service says they did not receieve my cancellation and I don't have proof. I believe this was an issue on their end, but they would not honor the cancellation. I tried to speak to someone over the phone, but per their policy, they don't honor refunds after 7 days. They are insisting I opened the email, but did not cancel the account.
