On June 13, ********************* and **** (?) visited and gave me an estimate of $2000. to replace flashing on my chimney. As flashing was removed 6/20, **** told me bricks were deteriorated and chimney needed to be rebuilt for $15,000. I was floored! This seemed like an exorbitant price to me and I certainly didnt have that much money on hand. But the roof hole exposed the attic and I was very frightened. I was extremely vulnerable due to some considerable stress in my life at that time. **** kept asking me for a deposit. He wanted $10,000! I paid the original $2000 estimate at that time. Im embarrassed to say that I had a difficult time understanding ***** and ***** accents and didnt want to be rude but I missed a lot of what was said and this added to my stress. They spoke very fast, interrupting each other and overwhelming me with their technical information, most of which didnt make sense to me. My hearing is not the best either. They had brought a 5-6 person work crew which seemed large for the job but I didnt think of it at the time. **** and **** did not stay here that day and of those doing the work, I saw no more than three on the roof. There was one man sitting on roof deck and a woman and man sitting in the back yard all day. I found 3 beer caps after they left. Was my inflated charge paying wages for all these people? On the following day, June 21, ****, **** and one other man returned about noon to 3:00-ish. While **** and **** sat in truck and took turns going to attic to check on the worker, the third man covered the attic chimney with stucco. He was the only one working. After the project was done I spoke with a ***** who works with one other man and said he wouldve completed this job in a few days for about $4000! Overall, I feel that, as an older woman (77) who lives alone, I was taken advantage of and pressured to make decisions asap.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have been in negotiations with the business and they have committed to deliver a check to me on August 26. I agreed to remove my complaint from their file. We agreed that if the check doesnt clear, I will refile my complaint #********.  They did not agree to a bank check.

    Regards,

I hired them to do chimney and roof work with an estimate of 16k. Soon after beginning work they claimed addition damage they previously estimated and claimed it would be an additional 15k. I told them to stop work and I would get another quote. They said they would keep my deposit and since they started deconstruction of chimney that it would get damaged and come down in the storm we just had. I fell for there pressure tactic and allowed them to complete the work. On conclusion of work the failed to give me an invoice or any writing statement of additional work and up charge. When I asked for contact information for any one else at the company they refused. The kept stalling saying a new invoice was coming but it never did. One of the up charge claims they gave me verbally was in the original estimate. I suspect they simply up charged me without doing anything beyond the initial estimate. I kept pushing for an invoice after work completion and they blocked my number. The work was done 1/2/24-1/5/24. They are a new business formed in September. All their ****** reviews are from over seas accounts nothing from ************* the state they operate in. Most reviews being from Ireland and the project manager had a strong Irish accent. This being a new company with no history of real work in the US makes me worry they are a flight risk before I can get through the proper channels to dispute this. Also I found out they do not have the proper licensing and did not do permits for the work.

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. They are screening calls and not answering when I call. They have phone calls to the business line redirected to their cell phone. Recently the changed the cell number that the business line gets redirected to. The first time I called after they did that they answered but hung up when they realized it was me. They have stopped responding to my texts and will not provide any information like itemized receipt or contact info of business owner. I followed up with my town building inspector who confirmed they did not do a lot of the work they claimed in the invoice and they did not get the required permit. This is a scam company please help.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

My previous complaint had the invoices and estimates attached.  This response I have attached the cleared checks to the company as proof they did a job for me. Their response that they have no record of working for me is a lie to attempt to have my honest review removed. I also have neighbors, family members and other witnesses that saw them working on my house.  This is just another example of this companies willingness to lie.

[You must provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.  If you do not enter a reason for your rejection, your complaint will be closed as Answered.]

Businesses and Customers should be civil, courteous and polite in their responses to complaints. It is important to remain professional and productive when participating in the BBB complaint process.
