I engaged the company to clear a drain. I was told, without asking, that the cost to clear a drain was $199. I was charged $580. I asked twice for an itemized invoice but have not received one. The job took four hours because the tech said he was inexperienced and we had to wait for "reinforcements". What he didn't mention when asked was that he had sent them to pick up a replacement part for something that had broken under the sink and that was why we were waiting a couple of hours for them. It took the experienced tech a few minutes to clear the drain going through the roof vent. While waiting for back up, the inexperienced tech spent a good 3 hours snaking the pipe, clanging against the metal. When asked, he said it wasn't bad for the pipes although my plumber disagrees. They left my house without informing me that a metal rod had broken and been replaced. (Later, when speaking with the owner I was told that I was lucky they repaired it and did not leave it for my plumber to fix.) As soon as they left, I noticed something was different, called the company and was told that they would never, ever replace that particular part with an emphasis on "never". Knowing what I was looking at, I called the next day and spoke to one of the techs who had been at the house. He said he thought that I had been informed by the person who caused the damage. I told him that I wanted the part that fit into the basin that was not broken returned. I was told that "it would not have connected to the new rod". I sent a photo of the new part explaining that the coupler was identical to the original and therefore the original would work and I wanted it back. I was told it had been thrown out. I was overcharged and an original part of the basin was taken without my consent. And I was initially lied to about it.

On 12/17/2024 Budge It Drains was called out for a clogged sink the tech who has been employed for over 3 years with us and who had plenty of experience was unable to clear the clog, during the snaking the tailpiece for the sink which was brittle crumbled and needed to be replaced. A second tech was called because the blockage was actually in the stack and needed to be cleared from the roof. Once the line was cleared the tail piece was replace at no charge to the customer. The price charged was for snaking from 2 locations the second location which was from a roof required the additional tech for safety. I explained to the customer that the piece that crumbled was in her trash

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

[You must provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.  If you do not enter a reason for your rejection, your complaint will be closed as Answered.] I was not told that the piece was in the trash.  But, of course, I checked the bathroom wastebasket for the part.  I didn't think to check the outside trash can, if that is where they put it? Either way, that does not explain why I was not told that something had broken and been replaced.  I have now asked three times for an itemized invoice.  The cost went from $199 to $580 with no explanation of charges.
The tech called for backup because he could not find the problem.
Three hours later, the other technicians arrived and figured it out in 5 minutes.
The inexperienced tech told me that he couldn't figure it out, which is why
he continued snaking the pipe for 3 hours straight.  He said he was
calling on back up with 20 years experience as opposed to his 3 years and
that he was sure that they would be able to figure it out.

I would appreciate if the business would please keep to the facts.

      Thank you

I spoke with ******* last week as she reports. As the invoice states Budge It Drains video pipe inspected the pipe upon completion of job and the pipe was completely empty and clear. when she called stating she needed us to unclog again she stated that she knew the pipe was empty but she wasn't a plumber so how should she know how we could have made it any better than completely empty and clear. She didn't like that i was telling her that the problem was with what is being flushed and became combative and threatening to call the bbb if we didn't come and clear her drain for free  Unfortunately it appears this customer doesn't want to accept responsibility for what is being flushed down the drain.
