I called this business because one of the thermostats in my house is not working properly. My wife and I wanted to have it replaced. When I called them on March 27, 2025, they told me that I would need to put a deposit to set up an appointment so someone could come out and look at our device. They mentioned a non-refundable deposit, but I understood that the money would go towards their actual service. I paid $520.39.A technician came over on March 31 and spent about 30 min to examine our system. He recommended to replace our old thermostat with a new smart thermostat of his choice and told me to get one myself. They would charge for their labor and some minor parts. On April 1st, I received their estimate for their labor, which was $2,190. Then I realized they did not apply my deposit of $520.39 towards the total service charge. When I called them about that they told me that the deposit of $520.39 was for their initial visit. They were charging over $500 for a 30 min visit that has nothing to do with any actual service. I find it outrageous. Their rate is $1,000 per an hour!

***** *** paid for a service call as outlined in the attached agreement where he paid for a 2 hour minimum service call to diagnose an issue with his thermostats. After the site visit a proposal was submitted to ***** for the requested repairs and replacements of thermostats. ***** did file a dispute with his credit card company and the credit card company did refund 100% of the service call cost that ***** agreed to pay for and of which services were provided. The initial service call did not specify that any repairs or replacements would be included. ***** paid for services that were provided, but he was unhappy with the proposal that was provided to actually replace the parts that we suggested that he purchase.

The attached job report shows the work that was completed during the initial service call in which the existing thermostats were diagnosed as not working, a complete write up was provided for the proposal to upgrade the system to a smart thermostat including all necessary wiring, transformers and relays for the line voltage system that exists.

The service that ***** *** paid for was delivered, he was not happy with the proposal to do all the work required to replace his old line voltage thermostat with a new low voltage smart thermostat.

In the end, ***** has been refunded 100% of his cost for the service call via the credit card dispute.
