We purchased solar energy system from Team Sunshine last spring. During the sale process the quote for the total project was * *********. Federal Tax Credit: * ******** and RI REF Grant: * ********. So, the net system cost would be: * ******. Naturally, we are responsible for our tax return, however there was a promise from the sales person that they will file on our behalf for the ** REF ****** On August 29 I had a telephone conversation with *************************** asking about the grant ************ He informed me that it was their Interconnection team that would go ahead with this ************ I have an e-mail from him showing that he instructed his team todo so. Since we never heard back from the company about the results of this application, I called **************** about two weeks ago inquiring about the *1,820 dollars. The representative told me she needed time to look into it and promised a call back. There has not been any further communication from Team Sunshine since then.Business Response

Our interconnection team worked to acquire all of the information needed to apply for ** REF ****** We received all of that information on Monday February 19th, **** and your application was submitted that day. Our customer service team did attempt to reach out multiple times over the last two weeks to keep you updated but did not receive a response. I began my conversations with *********************** of Team Sunshine(TS). ***** assured me they could complete the solar installation within 30 days. I paid my deposit on 3/29/23. May 17th I received a message. Hi *******! This is ******** from ... Sunshine the one helping you with your roof!Just confirming our schedule I know youre scheduled for solar on the 31st of May, so the week before we would like to do the roof! How does Wednesday 24th work for you? Please note, we will bring materials and a dumpster two days before the actual job starts! During that time I expressed to the electrician that there is a pipe coming down from the Panels resting on the new roof and the lack of space does not allow for a gutter istall. I contacted ***** again about the driveway which was damaged by the roofing crew. July 13 and and 20th I received and invoice for incomplete work:Total $32,486.14 ***** called about the invoice. I ask again about the damage to my driveway, and the incomplete work is and to remove the pipe off of my roof. ***** said they would update the invoice to reflect the damage.10/623. Pipe not moved and Work/inspection not passed or complete.Bill with penalty sent to TS totaling $2,686.80Business Response

Hello, We have spoken to ******* and resolved all of the listed issues.
The driveway had some damage from the company delivering materials and we reimbursed ******* for the damages.
We also had our service team readjust the conduit in order to accommodate *******'s future gutter installation.
******* is up to date on all invoices and so is Team Sunshine and we have been able to get all issues resolved amicably.

3/30/2023 Go ************* and Team Sunshine pressured me into signing for solar with the pretense that the financing options were equivalent to cash purchase.Team Sunshine was unable to clarify "dealer" fees which Go So *********************** inferred were mandatory by the bank.Business Response

At Team Sunshine, we take any and all customer complaints seriously and abide by all Truth in Lending laws and requirements.
Upon investigation, we have no records of a *************************** communicating with any Team Sunshine Employees, whether through phone or email record.
There are no records of signed or sent agreements, or credit checks with *************
We have a single design and proposal created by GOSO Technologies, an independent sales contractor. Any statements made by GOSO Technologies do not represent Team Sunshine.
However, we are happy to discuss this complaint with ******. I have personally called her to learn more about her experience and any questions she may have about financing or anything else.
I have called and left a voicemail and have not received any response.
We are always striving to improve our client experience and will be happy to speak with ****** but as of now she has not had any contact with any of our employees, only an independent sales contractor.
We will continue to reach out and invite ****** to call the number on the BBB listing and will certainly address this if given the opportunity.

I spoke with ***** from Team Sunshine today. He chose to state that their relationship with Go So has been great- but went on to state that Go So (despite making sales calls for them) does not represent Team Sunshine.
I appreciate the call, that ******************* they would audit their process, however. If Team Sunshine is not willing to understand that sales representative by the nature of trying to make sales for Team Sunshine/set up clients is a form of representation there is a bigger issue.
I would think that the state's District Attorney may be interested in knowing of these unlawful sales practices.

Hello,
After calling ****** several times and leaving many messages for her, she finally responded.
****** had spoken with an independent contractor who works with several solar companies and believes she was given false or misleading information. Every Team Sunshine customer that signs an agreement, even with an independent sales agent, gets audited. I personally countersign every single contract and our team does a quality control check "welcome call" on every project to make sure the homeowner understands the terms of their agreement, whether it was a lease or a purchase, and if it was a purchase with a loan, that they are taking out a loan and will be responsible for making the payments.
Up until this point, ****** had not spoken to any Team Sunshine employees, did not have a credit inquiry, no contracts or agreements had been sent to her, nor had she been pressured to sign any agreements as a contract had not been generated, nor had she called in to the main line to speak to a Team Sunshine employee or get any clarification.
In the event that ****** had signed an agreement or believes she was coerced into signing a contract, we would have immediately resolved the issue the voided any kind of agreement. This is not the case here.
When I finally did manage to get ****** on the phone, she stated that she appreciated the call from me but that "nothing you can say right now will change my mind" and that she did not have any time to talk. We only spoke for 2 or 3 minutes and she hung up the phone and was not interested in communicating further.However, the interaction she had was with an independent contractor that is not a Team Sunshine employee or representative. It was a simple proposal and presentation conducted by an independent sales agent that brings us installation work. We are ************************ and do not make any claims about financial terms nor do we give out professional tax advice. We simply execute on signed solar agreements to install the project. If ****** had signed a loan agreement, it would have been with a lender that would have also audited the project to make sure that ****** understood the terms.
At Team Sunshine we take compliance very seriously and we are happy to resolve any issue with ****** that she may still have.

I counter that when I accepted a phone call from Team Sunshine while operating and working (during business hours) I indicated at the start of the phone call that I had a limited time, that this phone conversation took more than 5 minutes. During the course of the conversation I was ask to confirm what happened and while apologetic Team Sunshine insisted that the independent contractor, who in their own words in the previous correspondence on this complaint "independent sales agent that brings us installation work" provided me with a " simple proposal and presentation" for solar that would be installed by Team Sunshine. This is a form of representing Team Sunshine, as such they should be alarmed that I WAS pressured into a loan contract from very early on in a misleading "presentation" of solar for TEAM SUNSHINE. I was told that they would review their relationship and audit them, and their process.
If Team Sunshine agrees to reevaluate, audit and change their process and relationship with "independent sales agents" and through them predatory sales I will be satisfied.
Businesses and Customers should be civil, courteous and polite in their responses to complaints. It is important to remain professional and productive when participating in the BBB complaint process.
