I went to Tire Maxx on November 7, 2024 with 1 emergency brake cable and pads that I purchased from **** **** for my 1997 Mercury grand marquis. My son was going to do the work, but was not able to use a lift to do it, so I went to Tire Maxx and asked if they could put these parts in to fix my emergency brake, which would not pass inspection. When I picked the car up, I was told that I needed 2 more cables; I was charged $300 labor cash (they said the internet was down again, as numerous times before, and cash only). I ordered 2 more cables from **** **** and brought my car back on November 21st. When I picked the car up, I was charged another $250 cash for labor (apparently the internet was still down). I was told by the manager that that it was fixed and the mechanic had got the car running up to 15 mph and the emergency brake held good. When I got home (5 minutes away), I put the e-brake on and tested it, it did not hold the car. I, also, noticed my drivers rear brake squeaks now. I immediately called Tire Maxx and spoke to Tony, the manager and explained the issue. Tony said to bring it in Friday, the next day. Today when I got there Tony refused to look at the car, stating it’s an old car and now needs a rear adjustment assembly for both wheels. Nothing was mentioned yesterday, when I was told my car was fixed. I will note that my car has only 100,047 miles on it and I am the 2nd owner, purchasing it only 5 years ago at 50,000 miles in mint condition from a friend who kept in garaged when not in use. Tony said he could not help me further. I said I will bring my son in, who knows cars better than me to discuss the issue. Tony said he could not guarantee he would listen, if he was busy.
Can you help me, I have spent $550 cash for repairs (plus $200 + for parts) that I was told fixed the e-brake and it didn’t! It is also questionable that you must pay cash (internet down every time?? now an ATM installed on site).

    RE: ID ********
    To whom it may concern:

In response to ***** **** this is FYI:
The Emergency Brake System has numerous
    components to be fully operable.
Mr. **** came in to us with his own auto
parts and diagnostic and requested for us to install them accordingly, (to be
clear, we were not the ones that originally diagnosed his system). Upon opening
the brake system we noticed that there were a number of problems with the
system; warn out parts, frozen and rusted cables, etc. We proceeded to install
his parts and advised him that the vehicle will need additional cables as well
    as the center link.
Mr. **** agreed and came back the second time
with the recommended cables minus the center link. We agreed to finish the job
with the understanding that Mr. **** would return again with the center link at
    a later date.
As a courtesy and good customer service we advised
Mr. **** that when he brought the center link that we would do the work with no
additional charge. (We are still waiting for him to return with the center link).
    Please let us know.
    Thank you!

     Sincerely,
    Used Tire Maxx Team
