      Hi, thank you for your help,BBB. I have a receipt from City Vacuum and a Claim Check. None has a disclosure about the deposit being nonrefundable. They did not do the job and are trying to profit from anyone  they can. This "Business" is a disgrace!

      Our shop has a $20.00 minimum labor charge that we collect at time of drop off. We clearly tell our customers that this charge is our minimum charge and we apply this to the repair if we can repair their machine. In this particular case, the machine in question has both motors that are going bad and it wouldn't be cost effective to repair. When I spoke to the customer I made her aware of this. She wanted her $20.00 refunded to her. I told her that this is our minimum charge for the time we spend disassembling and diagnosing the issue.

      We would have rather repaired her machine, but the cost would have been more than buying a new one.

      I recognize her feelings that she is not getting her machine repaired, but we spend time trying to do these repairs and unfortunately there are times we either cannot repair them or it isn't cost effective.

      I am sorry that this has been an issue for her and i sympathize, but we have to compensate our people for their time.
