      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The original stairs they installed were not centered to the sliding door.  They had to move the sliding door over so the stairs would be even with the door making it off center on the inside of the house.
The Northborough inspector instructed them that the original stairs were not up to code.  He advised them that there needed to be a 36 platform coming out of the sliders.
The owner had a mutual friend come out to review and access options to correct the issue.  He advised to install a 36 platform and 2 steps.  My husband I agreed.
The owner brought in a new company to correct the issue and advised my husband that they were going to do a 36 platform and 1 step and would need to raise the patio.  My husband agreed as long as it was slight slope.
The stairs and patio were completed with no supervisor or employee of EAW Roofing on site.
My husband reiterated to the ******* of the crew that he did not want a steep slope.  The ******* stated he knew what he was doing.
Once the job was completed, my husband looked at the patio/steps and texted me immediately.  I came home, accessed the completed patio/steps and texted **** ****** immediately stating my dissatisfaction.  I did not wait 4 months as he stated in his response. His reply was I cant do anymore.  (I have the text if needed).
The foreman advised my husband that they were doing the patio/steps this way because it was cheaper.
I paid the balance as Eric W****** and I used to be friends since we were kids and he stated he needed to pay his bills to get him through the winter.
The contract stated payments of 1/3 prior to work starting, 1/3 half way through the job and 1/3 final payment.  2/3 of the final payment were paid shortly after the halfway mark and were payable to Eric W*****.
We accommodated a lot of mishaps during the entire job.  We have a front side light door that the sidelights do not match the window on the door, we have 5 windows in our kitchen nook that do not match the windows on the rest of the house. We have a sliding door that is off center in our mudroom.
With all of the issues that happened during the 6 months of this job, we accepted the many mishaps.  The patio is not a mishap that we can accept.
The patio slopes 9 down the side of our foundation and in the years to come, the foundation will end up eroding and water will pool at the bottom of the slope which contains another basement window. This will cause future issues and unnecessary expenses.
Per the written contract from EAW Roofing and Construction, Inc. the patio was to be constructed to grade utilizing crush stone, sand and cosmic gray pavers and level perfectly.

      Sincerely,

      ****** & **** *******

The inspector in the town of ************ instructed us on what needed to be done we followed his lead he inspected the finished work approved it passed code and closed out the permit.

The customer approved it paid us in full and closed out the contract.

We explained several times that we needed to do it that way for the steps themselves to be by code we could not build the deck above the basement window which you can see in the picture and we had to slope it towards the egress of the garage door in order to keep that by code which you can see in the picture.

This is a personal preference/ grievance by the customer we did nothing wrong or anything that would bring up any code violations.

      To summarize:

Work was done as instructed by the town inspector passed code customer paid us in full closed out contract and then changed her mind 4 months later and wants it differently we cannot accommodate her on this unfortunately.
