PSA to anyone looking to get there transmission or rear end worked on , DO NOT give business to IN GEAR TRANSMISSION in *******. Had a new set of gears installed by them last month, car started to make weird noises in the rear end last weekend so brought it to a local shop which my ***** owns and came to find out its leaking gear oil, not shimmed properly and incorrect alignment of ring and pinion. Reached out and left multiple voicemails throughout the week and got no response. 1k worth of parts and install most likely down the drain now. Do not recommend

On 7/29/22, ********************* brought his **** Mustang GT to In Gear to replace rear differential gears. He provided all the parts to perform the job. Forty days later on September 7th, **************** called the shop complaining of a leak at his front crush collar. He called again on September 8th. The person who works in the office had left early that day due to a leg injury and did not report back to work until late the following afternoon. When checking the 22 messages on the machine upon her return, she (***********************) wrote down a phone number from a previous caller next to ******************** name. That is the number she called and left a voicemail on. **************** obviously did not receive the message. The message she left was to get the vehicle back for September 19th, as the shop was booked that particular week. On September 9th, **************** posted on Uniquely ***************** page condemning the business. The post states that his differential was screwed up and that he had brought the vehicle to his friend's shop who said the ring and pinion was not aligned correctly. Just a note, if the ring and pinion was installed improperly it would not have gone 40 days. Also **************** made no mention of any problems with the differential besides a leak on the shop messages. In one of our responses to his post, **************** was told about the September 19th appointment that had been scheduled for him.   We asked him to have his friend call us as well. That never happened. After several people came to the shop's defense, as we have been in business for a long time and have a great reputation in the area, he took the post down. On September 10, **************** then left a slanderous review on our business ******** page. We responded again. He was told again about the September 19th appointment. We also asked him to provide the name and phone number to the shop he brought the vehicle to so that we could call them. That information was not given. In closing, all differentials are built by the owner, *******************, who has 30+ years in the industry. He set up the gears, sets the backlash and pinion depth personally. The vehicle did not leave making noise or "unaligned" as claimed. Just a side note, the term unaligned makes no sense and is not the correct terminology for setting up differentials. This makes us believe that either the vehicle was never seen by another shop to come to the conclusion that it is screwed up or that the person looking at it has no expertise in this matter. At no time have we seen the vehicle to confirm there is a problem. He did not bring the vehicle back on September 19th. As far as a leak goes, he was told on via social media that if the leak was installer error, we would warranty it. We also stated that brand new seals can leak, and he did provide the parts. we have not seen the vehicle to be able to determine the leak.

He needs to bring the vehicle back for us to look at. If it is our error, we will fix it. If it parts failure, the job will not be warranted. He did not bring us the vehicle and did not provide us the name and number to the shop that claims we performed the repair incorrectly. Instead, he chose to post damaging lies on social media. I do have screen shots of his posts if needed.

I am rejecting this response because:

In gear transmission publicly defamed my name on ******** saying a response to my issue was received and followed up with, that is not the case. After ****** lied and stated she did call me back she walked her words back and then said I took the wrong number down, etc. This is a direct result of them trying to cover the situation up. As of today 9/27, no phone call has been received from IN gear transmission in regards to the issue. I made my attempts at reaching out , multiple times, I will provide my call logs from ******** if you'd like ,but due to their shady business practices they have still yet to reach out.
In regards to my Mechanic, I made In gear aware that my mechanic was ******************************* of ******** ** who has called them numerous times, I can get the call log for that too but they will probably lie about that as well. Feel free to call him: ?*****************? like I mentioned online, but your phone is probably not working or an excuse for someone not being in the office will surface.   Being in business for Over 30 years you would expect a place of business to have customer service but ********************** lacks that in every aspect. They somehow believe this is some sort of game for me. It is not. I do not have time to deal with their drama and lack of mechanical comprehension. I work full time and am in school full time, my car is my transportation and they damaged that. My personal property damage is a direct result in their inability to properly install new gearing, it is not an opinion it is a fact. I was raised on moral values of honesty and respect, and if the business also had those same values, I would not need to be typing this. I do not care how long you have been in business because everyone can make mistakes. ****** insulates that due to their length in business that they are perfect and never have made a mistake.
Now I am caught in a predicament due to a business showing me their true colors and lying to me directly. I do not feel safe bringing my vehicle back to them as they will damage it further as retaliation or just say that the damage was from the parts. I ask the BBB to get involved with a neutral party to inspect the vehicle.

    Sincerely,

    *********************

When asked for the name of ******************** mechanic , he replied with a name, but not "from Plymouth", nor did he provide the name and number to his repair shop. This is the first time he has provided the number.  I checked my phone records from Spectrum business and there is 1 missed call from the number ************ on 9/12/2022. The call is missed which means he hung up before leaving a message on our voicemail. No voicemail was left from ******************** mechanic friend.

I can also send you a screen shot of the missed call as well as my phone records back to September 7th. I can also send you the screen shot in which we wrote on ******************** social media post that reads" so bring the vehicle back on September 19th so we can see it ourselves. This post is under the name ***********************, as he does not use his real name on Facebook.

**************** was also told on our reply to his nasty review to bring the vehicle back on the September 19th. This review was also under a completely different FB name as well.

Again, we have not seen the vehicle to confirm his claims. His original voicemail made mention of a leak only . To recap,he had his vehicle 40 days before calling us to complain about a leak and he did provide his own parts.

He, without talking to us took to social media 2 days after his initial call to bad mouth our business.

In closing, he was given an appointment date in writing which he did not show up for. The offer still stands to bring the vehicle back for us to look at and see what we can do. That is all we are obligated to do and that is all we will entertain. He is free to bring the vehicle elsewhere, that is his choice but the bill will be his responsibility. We cannot warranty work that we have not seen or had the chance to determine failure. He can let us know what day if any he would like to bring the vehicle back.
