In June 2022 we paid a $2000 deposit for a $9,000 landscape job to Exquisite Properties. We had previous had seasonal cleanups and snow plowing so were established prior customer. We wanted an old overgrown rock lawn torn out and redone. Work was to begin in July and many excuses of weather, staffing and equipment. By October he stopped returning calls or emails and we heard from others he was a no show. January 2023 he finally returned a social media message and did perform some snow plowing. Spring 2023 he no showed for a spring clean up and made many excuses then stopped communicating again. We told him to perform $1700 worth of work or return our money. He no showed and calls were blocked. July 2023 he said he would come do work if we gave him gas money. We laughed and told him we'd go to small claims court. Attempts to send him certified mail have gone unable to deliver or refused.

    Business Response

    Hi *****,

I admit I had and am having trouble keeping up which is why I have downsized my business but I never blocked or denied any calls, I was never contacted to do a spring clean up, I did some work to bring the deposit down for the few snow storms we had and when contacted many times as you can see in just one of several screen shots of our conversation, I tried and tried to come do the work and make things right and was actually the one to not receive responses.
I dont live at my address anymore.
As stated in the text messages, call me or text me and Im still willing to get the job done and have been waiting for you to approve that step.

sorry I dealt with a lot in regards to keeping the business running with only myself after breaking my shoulder to put this into a dragged out job.

theres much more behind this and I wouldnt just block your calls and quite a bit of your statement is inaccurate and Ive been trying to no avail to just do the job. If spring clean up is needed I would be happy to do that as well.

    Customer Answer

While there were efforts to resolve and communicate in spring 2024 this matter remains unresolved and he still owes us money.  He could not provide proof that he was still in business (valid business certificate from the city) or had liability insurance, vehicle insurance so I did not want him on my property.  He also did not have the equipment or crew to perform the job.  We wanted a refund or proof of free service without accolades or advertising to the community (school garden class volunteer, rail trail clean up, pond clean up, etc.) and that went unanswered.  He is now claiming to be back in business but 3 years later and we had hired others and don't need his services here but want some sort of restitution.
