On April 30, 2022, Jennifer P*********, the owner of Sacred Roots Healing, began teaching a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program that was falsely represented as being registered with Yoga Alliance (YA). YA is the industry standard for safe and effective practices for yoga schools and teachers. Despite the fact that Sacred Roots Healing is not a Registered Yoga School and Ms. P*********, the lead instructor, is not a Registered Yoga Teacher with YA, Ms. P********* consistently referenced students’ ability to register with YA upon completion of her program. In an email communication received Friday, January 27, 2023, it was revealed that Sacred Roots Healing is not and never was a Registered Yoga School with YA. In this email, Ms. P********* stated that following through with submitting the required paperwork to become a YA registered school was “not something we personally felt compelled to do”, therefore, making it impossible for students of this program to become Registered Yoga Teachers as we had been told we would.
Further deceptive advertising of the Sacred Roots Healing YTT program stated that multiple guest teachers, each an expert in their field, were scheduled to come in and share information during our training. Students were promised experts in mantra, japa meditation, sound healing, herbalism, and Ayurveda. As of January 27th, 2023 when the final group communication from Ms. P********* was received, there had been only one guest teacher.
Additionally, Ms. P********* had repeatedly promised and failed to deliver the availability of a syllabus, manual, links to online yoga classes that would meet the criteria for our required class hours, yoga labs to delve deeper into asana, recorded YTT meetings to refer back to, zoom meetings to discuss our required readings, and video recordings of additional information we were not able to discuss within our meetings due to the mismanagement of time by our instructors.

On April 30, 2022 the following deceptive or unfair business act occurred: Jennifer P*********, the owner of Sacred Roots Healing, began teaching a Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program that was falsely advertised as being registered with **** ********, the industry standard for safe and effective practices for yoga schools and teachers. Despite the fact that Sacred Roots Healing is not a Registered yoga school, and Ms. P*********, the lead instructor is not a Registered Yoga teacher with **** ********, Ms. P********* consistently referenced students' ability to register with **** ******** upon completion of the program. In an email communication received on Friday, January 27, 2023, it was revealed that Sacred Roots Healing is not and never was a Registered Yoga School with **** ********. In this email, Ms. P********* stated that following through with submitting the required documentation in order to become a **** ******** Registered yoga school was "not something we feel personally compelled to do," therefore making it possible for students to become Registered Yoga Teachers as we paid for and had been told we would.

In response to this situation, I contacted Jennifer P*********, the owner of Sacred Roots Healing on January 30, 2023 requesting full refund of funds paid ($1,848.00) for services not rendered. She did not respond to my email. I sent an additional email on February 13, 2023 again requesting a full refund of funds paid for services not rendered. Due to Ms. P*********'s lack of response, I sent a Massachusetts Demand Letter Official 30-day Notice Chapter 93A Section 9 (Consumer Protection Act) on March 9, 2023 via certified mail to Jennifer P*********'s business address and home address and still have not received a response.
