I bought a car from ****'s Auto Sales for $5000 (cash) on February 5, 2024. Car had just been inspected and I was assured by the owner there were no issues with the car. When I had a problem with the car shaking this past July 2024, I brought it back to ****'s and got an estimate of approximately $1000 to fix the problem. I was told by **** that I would have to pay for the repairs or the other alternative he said was he could go to the weekly car auction he buys his cars from and see if he could find me another car and he would give me $500 towards a trade in I decided to go to an independent car repair shop (Bayside Auto) for a second opinion. They did a diagnostic of the car and and there were 4 cylinders, plugs and coils that needed to be replaced. The total cost was $1035.92 I paid this because I believed that although expensive, I needed a car and assumed my car would be fine after that. Shortly after, the car began to have the same issues I originally brought the car in for. On 8/6/2024, after the mechanic looked again at the car, it was determined the spark plugs that they replaced were faulty. The charge for that and labor came to $423.48 Again I drove car home and the shaking got worse. I again brought the car back to the shop where it was determined the engine needed to be replaced and because it was a hybrid, the estimated cost was anywhere from $3000 up to $10,000 not including labor. I am now out over $6000 with no transportation to work or doctor's appoinments
