I purchased paint on April 13th. It was very expensive paint and the store had a hard time mixing it. They had to override something on the computer in order to get it done. The employees told me that they overrode the primer requirement and so I'd have to use a tinted primer underneath. I said ok and they also sold me the primer. I attempted painting with it on 5/4. I'd been painting by that time for a week and so I knew how paint was supposed to feel. This was runny and sticky. In case this was because of the color (red) I kept painting, doing 3 coats on one wall. Attached are pictures of this paint after dried over night- 1 of one coat, 1 of 3, and 1 picture of the paint bubbling. The store told me that only the owner could give a refund so I had to go in the next day. He was very argumentative, insisting that he made the same paint and it was fine. As evidence he put paint on a wooden mixer. He ignored all of my picture evidence and refused to give be a refund or replacement. It really was shocking to be accused of not knowing what I was doing despite all evidence pointing to the poorly mixed paint (in addition to a professional friend saying the same). I went to a different store to get the same paint and it went on great, same color, only one coat needed. The interaction with ***, the owner, was quite upsetting overall. In the midst of interrupting me and talking over me he accused me of doing the same.

The refund was submitted yesterday much to our dismay as we feel the product was not defective. the customer was informed to use a particular primer recommended by the software program. The primer was not purchased from our store, and we are not certain that the correct primer was used.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have received a refund for the defective product and am satisfied with this result. However I'd like to make clear and for it to be on record that the primer for the paint WAS purchased from the store at the recommendation not just of the employee but also of a bystanding professional contractor. Furthermore, this paint with or without a primer (any primer) should not have been going on so thin and streaky. Their response confirms that I will not be going back to their store and I will not be taking down my negative review, though I've amended it with this result. This is all in reference to complaint #********. I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved.

      Regards,
