I was a several year customer of ********************** of **********, **. In October 2022 their technician came to do a winterization( shut down) of my sprinkler system. He did not properly close the outside shutoff causing in winter of 2023 the pipe to burst! Thankfully no water entered my basement! When their technician came May of 2023 to turn the sprinklers on is when he showed me the burst pipe because he could not complete the process. I alerted Boston Irrigation and they have refused responsibility even though they sent me an October photo proving MY point of no proper shutoff was done! I had other people including plumber confirm their error snd still Boston Irrigation would not take responsibility! They wanted to charge me $700 to repair! I hired a plumber who fixed the pipe and shall be hiring another sprinkler company! Shame on Boston Irrigation for treating a longtime customer in this manner!!

Thank you for the review. We contacted you multiple times via email offering to help, as we understand that this is an unfortunate situation. As we explained in our emails, the burst pipe at your home occurred because someone turned the water back on after the winterization process was completed.

When we finished the winterization on 10/18/2022 the technician took a photo to show the position of how he left the valves and when we came to start-up the system on 5/9/2023 the valve was in a different position indicating someone, had tampered with the valve, to use the water spigot below. The proper winterization process is to purposely leave the valves at a 45 degree angle and the bleeder valves open to allow any trapped water to escape and prevent cracking the ball valves. We take a picture to keep on file for each home, so we can certify that we have done our jobs properly.

We have appreciated your business over the years, and the referrals you have given us. In instances where we have done something wrong, we are very quick to remedy the situation and we stand behind our work, but in this case we did all of the winterization steps properly.
