    We hired JRC Remodeling to redo our kitchen. The job took about three times as long as promised. Joe R, owner of JRC together with his wife, is a terrible communicator and has a limited familiarity with truth telling. His workers made errors and forgot to do things (e.g., a cabinet drawer and a stone desk ledge not ordered). The most egregious problem involved removing wall insulation which was old and moldy, but forgetting to put new insulation in the wall prior to sealing it up and installing cabinets and countertops. Joe promised to due a more complicated and expensive installation from the outside of the house, but after repeatedly putting off the date the work was to be done, he eventually and unilaterally walked away from the job and will not even take phone calls. I will have to hire - presumably at my expense - another contractor to do the work that is needed because of their mistake. The kitchen remodeling itself is good, but the negatives and job abandonment are inexcusable and probably deserve a zero star rating.
