    I rented a dumpster because they had a reasonable price of $400 and then $175 per ton over the first ton. I put almost only cardboard boxes and packing in the dumpster with a few light fixtures so I figured the weight would not be that high and therefore less the other dumpster rental places. I then was charged an addition $280 for the dumpster rental which after I inquired they told me that this was due to 1.6 more tons over the 1 ton included with the $400. After I told them that there was water dripping from the dumpster when it was picked up they basically responded that the weight as per the agreement was my responsibility.

    You stated you were hoping for a lower price from us than other companies, it's unfortunate you have taken an unscrupulous path to achieve that. Your complaint is with the charge for the extra weight which you believe is from water weight and not possibly other items you put beneath the cardboard. You were supplied with a weight slip which comes from a state regulated scale with exact amounts clearly present. You were told the truck crosses the scale, dumps and crosses the scale again to calculate the amount of weight in the dumpster you filled up. You claim only cardboard was in the dumpster and the weight would have come from rain water. You then asked if we could cut your bill leaving us to pay for your waste. You also asked if there was a way for us take care of the water, you were told the dumpster is propped up in the front to not be level and allow water to run out. You were also told the dumpster is not water tight so any water freely runs out when it is picked up and you responded the cardboard must have soaked it up. Perhaps you are expecting us to ring out the cardboard or maybe ask mother nature to hold back her rains while you have a dumpster. The amount of your comprise in price would equate to over 150 gallons of water in the dumpster and soaked in cardboard. Clearly there is no possibility of that amount of water. That leaves one possiblity, you loaded something heavy and tried to get a refund but were refused and are now attempting to take advantage of a small business by bad mouthing it with this establishment and others across the internet. In short, this consumer requested a service and was provided with that exact service and is now seeking a refund after utilizing the service. After being refused a refund to obtain a lower price for disposal of his waste due to rain water he has taken to trying to negatively affect the reputation of this company.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is as satisfactory to me as it can be with their attitude. It is clear to me that they have no intention to compensate me for the extra weight due to water. The company stated "I'm sorry you had to pay higher than anticipated but that's what it came out to be." However they are not willing to do anything about it. In the end the company will actually make more money from the water weight since they charge more for the water weight to me than what they themselves pay.

    This misunderstanding could have been completely avoided if they would have warned me of the consequences of water weight as is done on other dumpster rental companies (*****************************************):

    Dumpster weight limits do not differentiate between the weight of water and the weight of any other material. Naturally, if it rains or the material in your dumpster becomes saturated with water for any other reason, your dumpster will be heavier.

    Furthermore some dumpster rental companies recommend reducing the rental period or using a tarp to lessen the water weight potential.

    Since the company makes more profit because of the water weight and does not care about customer satisfaction they have no incentive to share that information.
