I attended the Massage Institute of Cape Cod from September 7, 2021 to June 16, 2022. In that time I gave the school $12,832. in tuition and cash made from it's Massage Clinic. Despite passing every test and accepting every massage available to me, I've been denied a certificate and am unable to get a massage license or a job.MICC requires students complete 150 hours of Massage Clinic. Most schools are 100 hours, but MICC starts early and runs longer. Why? As one staff member responded, "Because the director wants the money". MICC is much more a Massage Business than a Massage School. All decisions stem from that, and I believe that;s the reason I didn't get the number of massages I needed (I completed 118): I was seen as someone not making enough money for the school. I was repeatedly told my massage was sub par, despite a drawer full of positive reviews. During a conversation with the director on June 11, she finally admitted that I hadn't received the clients I needed because I hadn't "brought business into the school".As a paying student, my job is not to bring money into the school, but to learn a trade, graduate and become licensed. Students have no control over when or with whom they will be scheduled for a massage.I spent much of the year asking how I would ever get to the 150 the program requires at the rate I was going. Unlike most schools, Massages aren't distributed equitably at MICC. There is no "first come, first served". In fact therapists not connected to the school are hired and regularly take massages students might've gotten. When asked why this was the case, the response was, "They pay extra money for every massage they complete".It's the job of the school to provide me with enough clients to fulfill that part of their program just as it is to teach me Anatomy and Physiology.i have honored my part of the agreement I made with MICC. Please help me get the school to do the same.Thank You ***********************

The business left a brief voice mail message but the matter has not been settled. The fact that this business has been unwilling to respond to a request from the BBB tells me all I need to know about the seriousness with which these concerns are being taken.

Please continue to wait for a response.

    Thank You
