We hired this company to build an addition to our home. We paid a down payment of $69,000, and that was for the demolition, foundation, framing, windows, plumbing, roof, and start of siding. We had the town building inspector come out and was told that there were many things that were not done correctly, and that would have to be fixed. The plumbing was done without a permit, and was done incorrectly, the supporting posts were the wrong size, there was a supporting beam resting on a window header, and lack of a supporting beam underneath , the ceiling was too high, and not up to code, there was lack of supporting brackets, windows were all leaking, due to incorrect installation of the windows and flashing.....therefore we terminated our contract with this company. We have had some of the above fixed and obviously had to repay in order to do so, and we still have to have other things done in order for this addition to pass inspection. We have reached out to the contractor and he has not responded As of right now, we have spent $9,000, and still have to have the posts installed. At the time these issues were pointed out to the contractor, he argued with the inspector, and denied any wrong doing. He was told to have new drawings done by a structural engineer and handed in to town inspector, which he failed to do, hence our decision to terminate our contract. We had lost faith in him. We are left with a nightmare and out of money to finish this project.
